Hot, these are excellent quality and the 4D one has plenty of weight if you need a bit of security!

other than that they are useless....if you want exceptional quality then led lenser are better...have 3 which are superb but fairly expensive...or go for some of the decent torches at dealextreme...have about 20....even those at costco are miles better (£13 for 2)

the maglites are about as effective as a match compared to those at dealextreme....some which claim to be 700-900 lumen...prob nearer 300-400

have a look on you tube for demos how useless maglites are now compared to decent torches via eg dealextreme....namely uniquefire, ultrafire, etc

If we focus on the deal its a good reduction and cheapest deal about for this product. The Maglight build quality is amazing and they are a good "tool" for home security with a bit of weight in them. If you just just want bright lights with limited build quality and don't mind waiting for them I agree DX have some excellent lights, I have 3 of them myself.

The 2D one is £17.99 at Argos so this screwfix deal is cheaper

wrong re: build quality....i have 2 maglites and havent use them for years....you must have bought the wrong torches at dealextreme as the ones i have are as good if not better than the maglites

whats the point in your statement re: focus of the deal its cheaper, thats dumb so youd rather pay more for an inferior product because its been reduced....thats like saying id rather buy a focus @ £15000 because its been reduced from £20000, even though i can buy a bmw for £12000

nice but way overpriced....check out the comparision between the mte3-2 (go to dealtreme - i have one) and fenix tk40 - mte wins on power, fenix nice though but SIX times the price

also the supposed world record holder....4100 lumens gulp!

Royal, I think you are comparing apples and pears no one is declaring the maglites are the brightest in the world, but its like comparing a BMW mini and a classic mini for build quality dx torches are a bit rough around the edges but are verybright. What you should be doing is trying to find the same product cheaper but you can't.

Cold. my uniquefire s10 is a lot brighter. Three inch long, takes 1AA battery and cost £6 from d/x.
#16
Expired, pointless posting a deal for a maglite and then everyone comparing it to a different brand of torch, even though this is a cheap deal for a maglite

clueless and bull re: build quality - you clearly have bought no torches via dealextreme or have bought the wrong ones....the ones im talking about arent the $2-5 ones...im talking about the full metal encased ones

Are you trying to tell me DX torches are better build quality than Maglites, you sir are the clueless one, I'd recommend everyone to read the DX torch reviews before buying, many cases of missing O rings, rattles, overheating, dead on arrival, needing to add metal disks to make battery contact, huge delivery delays and driver issues. My view from my experience is DX torches are very bright but can suffer from above issus depending on the luck dip at DX.
