Right before you have a go for it being a Tesco voucher offer here me out. Since Gamestop ran out of magma red controllers many months ago, I had been looking around endlessly for a good deal to get a coloured controller. Then it dawned to me that i could cheat the tesco system by creating what is probably my 4th account to take advantage of year another code.

Added the magma red controller + a favourite of mine (Kylie singe and dance for wii for £2) and used the voucher (TDX-KYNK) for £10 off £50 spend.

If anyone can find anything else useful to add to the ps4 controller to bring it to £50 so that the voucher can be used, please post. I may use the kylie wii game for parties (probably for a good 2 minutes) but was not something i wanted to buy, and bought the total to a massive £41. But for the ps4 controller worth it.

£5 off when you spend £30 on all Entertainment. Use eCoupon code TDX-PFW6. Can the £5 coupon also be applied while having £10 off £50 spend, or can you only use 1 code?

Heat added. I've been waiting ages to get my hands on a magma red controller. Just hope the thumb stick rubber is in better shape than the black DS4.

Oh okay. Back to the deal itself. I suppose if you're looking for a coloured controller for PS4 this is good for you. But as an outsider i think these controllers will eventually come down to £30. So if i had a PS4, I'd just wait until they're a more affordable price.

I highly doubt it as the Dualshock 3 is still averaging out about £35/£40 5 years after they were released. :s

Like the dvd, but considering i went for the Kylie wii game, i still think i got the better deal at £41. ;) Cant wait to dance and sing to a bit of 'Spinning around'. You cannot put a price on that, though tesco seem to think its £2.

How do you know? Not trying to be rude at all just wondering if sony have actually acknowledged this or is it a general consensus that they are better quality? This is the main thing that will be putting me off the ps4 when I get round to buying a next gen console - every GAME shop I go in has had rubber less controllers since about 2 weeks after launch.

Thanks for the reply. I got a replacement controller for a defective one from Sony a couple of months ago and the thumbsticks are very slippery and the R1 button still jams.

Not as bad as the initial batch but still a concern all the same. I've ordered one anyway.

I've never had any problems with the rubber on my thimbsticks and I'm a pretty long time gamer. (20+ hours a week) on my ps4. If the rubber goes as far as I'm aware you can get the controller replaced with a new one of the same colour/style.

The controllers in Game are probably the old stock from the console launch. Sony have acknowledged it and will replace any dodgy controller under the warranty no questions asked. I remember reading it somewhere alongside the warranty guarantee that Sony said they have changed the material for future batches. I've not had an issue with mine (purchased back end of Feb). If you are worried there's always the thumb grips for £1 odd on eBay :p

I prefer the launch rubber, bought a new controller two weeks ago and the new rubber is much more rough/tough with less grip. My launch controller analogs feel nice and soft with just enough grip, though I guess they had too as most people are tearing through the originals.

Easy to fix. Get the Orbz thumbstick for the ds4. Done :) it feels even better than the stock. Only like 3 quid

Mine fell of within 2 weeks of release day. I rang sony and was told to send the pad to them for inspection. it never happened as did not want to be weeks without playing my brand new console.

for anyone wanting to get similar color but cheaper then try buying silicone covers for controller for under £2 delivered.

I have 4 different colours in slip on silicone covers and they look nice. Anyone interested in hoe they look can search on ebay or click my username here which will take you to my Profie where you will see link to my YouTube Chanel uploads. You can find the 4 diffrent colours for ps4 controller video on my old uploads. after using these silicone covers I am glad I didn't pay for the coloured controllers and bought the silicone covers instead.

Not a big fan of the blue or red ones... I reckon I'll wait for the white or camo one to come out over here... We shouldn't be too far behind the US hopefully

Haven't looked for DS4 yet, but I got a red shell for my DS3 for £5.00 on eBay. Great quality, easy to fit...plus you can get any colors.

Ordered along with 2 copies of a Macdonald Brothers album (whoever they are) at 50p each, bringing it to exactly £40.

Thanks OP!

I don't get the hype with the blue and red controllers, i also don't get why there more expensive.
I think black is visually more appealing because everything else in the room is black (i.e remotes, tv stand ect..)
Heat added though as the price is more suitable.

** BUYER BEWARE **

I bought the Wave Blue DualShock 4 on launch and about a month ago the rubber split and Sony agreed it was a warranty issue. After sending them my controller they sent me this email:

Hi James,

Please find below the information from our call today as well as our complaints address:

I contacted you regarding your RMA exchange which you setup 25/06/2014. Currently we do not provide replacement coloured controllers and therefore I offered a black controller replacement. I appreciate that you are unhappy with this and I will have your faulty blue controller returned to you unrepaired.

Please find the complaints address below:

Sony Entertainment Europe

I hope this helps, but if you have any other questions please contact PlayStation Support using the contact details below or by replying to this e-mail.

Thank you,

They claim to have posted my controller back at the beginning of the month and it has never turned up. To which I wrote to them about (after waiting two weeks for it to arrive) and I received this email reply:

Not worth ordering the coloured ones if they cannot repair them under warranty. Even worse that they have managed to lose mine!
