Never had Magners in a can. Does it taste just as nice as from a bottle?
#2
goes flat REALLY quickly

cold for me im afraid (and i dont mean the actual drink) whereas they have pallets of all the other beers and ciders in the 3 for £20 offer the only amount available of magners is whats on the shelf and this amounts to 8 boxes maximum and you guessed it , its always empty so the chances of getting one box of these never mind 3 is impossible

Its a great deal but the cans taste like wine, I personally wouldn't by the cans over the bottles but it is a good price.

Magners tastes like **** whether you drink it out of a bottle, can or ladies shoe! Strongbow, Bulmers and Scrumpy Jack are the cider connoisseurs choice. The only reason Magners is so popular is down to them having a very good marketing team.

Tesco don't seem to get many of these in stock at all. A bit more expensive but Morrison's are currently selling them for £8 a box and (at least in the store I was in) they had tons of the stuff.

Strongbow over magners don't make me laugh:whistling:

Bulmers every time....

you fools who have been sucked in by the Magners over ice in a pint glass, wow how cool you all look... not!
you never even drank cider before!
The ice just waters the drink down for gods sake.
if you want a decent cider try Thatchers. 7.4% NO ICE . NO ICE. NO ICE. JUST SERVE COLD AS WITH ALL CIDER!

There are some decent ciders about, but the three he listed are not them.

Magners is Bulmers in Ireland, they also call it tramp juice. It's appropriate.

Chill it over ice until you can barely taste it and it becomes drinkable. Or you could drink something nice instead.

No, the Bulmers in Ireland is seperate from the UK Bulmers as the companies split years ago, the Irish and British brands kept their trademark in their own markets.

Irish Bulmers in Ireland is labelled Magners in England so it doesn't infringe English Bulmers trademark.

Bottle of White Lightening. Park Bench. Sorted. :-D

Surely Merrydown has got to be up there? I've been drinking cider for 25+ years and lived in Devon for 15+ of them so I've tasted a few ciders. Agree with Thatchers also. K is also superb.

Strongbow, Dry Blackthorn and Magners are cack but when it's 50p a can, it's hard to complain.

Thats exactly right.

Bulmers on tap in Irish bars is like nectar.

I believe that the English Bulmers comapny are also the makers of Strongbow... i think.

Yeah so Magners in England and Bulmers in Ireland are the same :)

I was going to make this point but you did it for me. There is definitely a taste difference between the two. I actually think Gaymers original is closer to the smooth Magners taste, and I am split between the two as to which I prefer. At the end of the day it's all subjective of course, and I enjoy Strongbow too now and again. I disagree that it's just down to marketing as someone wrote earlier as even though the market was clever in bringing the Magners 'style' of cider to the fore, people will always vote with their pockets in the long term and Magners has obviously attracted the taste buds of many a cider drinker, and maybe even the odd ale or lager convert!
#28
Wow, people get really defensive about what they drink, some of these replies read like messages I've seen before when someone suggests drinking red wine chilled or drinking whiskey with coke :)

Personally I like Magners a lot more than any other cider I've tried, think it's nice with ice and only tried it recently by chance, I had no idea it was supposed to be a 'cool' drink. Just drink what you enjoy, who cares what other people like?
#29
The best cider around is Savanna, can be found in most Tesco stores.
In glass bottles, none of this can nonsense :p:p

It's been found out. There are a few suckers left, but flogging the rubbish off cheap in supermarkets is about where it's at.

Uhm, so what? It's not like a McDonalds style drink where they fill the glass with ice so you get less actual drink. You still drink the whole bottle of cider, who cares if you also drink a couple hundred ml of water?

When all you little girls have stopped your tantrums over what fizzypop whimp drinks are best, why don't you try a mans drink..Guinness and Scrumpy. (60% Guinness 40% Scrumpy). 7 or 8 pints of that and you'll P stronger fizzypop. :-D
Merry Christmas what ever you drink: :santa:
