okay so i have never been on a plane before. I have a passport but what other charges is there? in as simple terms as possible. Can i just get on a plane then come straight back on the next available return journey? it seems very cheap.

There are airport taxes/charges and possible baggage charges, but you will be able to see these when booking the flight. I still get a little shocked when people tell me they've never been on a plane.

Go with Ryanair. You should pay less than £20...

You don't need luggage for this crazy idea of just go and came back, then you are not going to be charged for excess.

Get the cheapest flight to anywhere and run to get a seat in the window! :w00t:

But... are you sure that you don't want enjoy the destination? So much hassle to travel, airport, blablabla and just get there and come back? :prop:

Anyone knows if airline is liable if the ash caused a plane's engines to seize up in flight? Is it not liable because it is an act of God or is it not an act of God cause the airline flew against a known risk? Or could they shift the blame to the CAA?
