I was passing through B&Q's mini-warehouse in Perth yesterday when I came across a display for this 18 volt combi drill by Makita. It's has 1.3amh red batteries, but I can't remember if there were 2 or 3 in the deal. It also came in a quality box with accessories - screwdriver bits and drill bits. I didn't have time to have a good look, but that's a fabulous in-store price. I know they are £179.99 from Screwfix (another company within the B&Q group), plus this has the accessory set, plus you can have a 10% discount as follows:
- Grab a granny (or indeed grandad) and take them along on a Wednesday and get their diamond (OAP) discount; or
- Open a trade account. It's basically a store card, but without interest. Not sure if these are open for trade only, but I applied and received one in store abnout 6 months ago despite telling the assistant that I'm not a tradesman. Every purchase you make thereafter over £50 attracts a 10% discount, any day of the week. Full payment is due end of the month following the month of the invoice.

This is a good drill at a great price, plus you get the accessory set.

Hope you guys like it.

Here is a Ryobi 18v Combi Drill and Cordless Jigsaw supplied with 2 x 1.7Ah batteries and work bag for the same price.

I don't know if the drills are of the same quality but Ryobi is a decent make.

Ryobi make very respectable equipment but Makita is very much a cut above, definately the top end of the market for quality.

I just grabbed one of these and can confirm that it has 2x1.3ah batteries and a 150 piece attachment set. I saw the version with 3 batteries (1.3ah again) at £179 but that didnt have the attachment set. Didn't think that the extra battery was worth £80.

Cheers OP just grabbed myself one, seems a nice piece of kit and easy to replace/upgrade parts :)

Got one myself. Comes with 2 batteries and a shedfull of bits and pieces. The drill alone with 3 batteries is £179.99 @ Screwfix. There are plenty of drills out there that cost far less. But for serious use I would always recomend a brand like Makita.

Just so your aware, the range in bandq on offer is a range sold only to bandq(from makita technical department). If you had any intention of expanding your cordless tool set this drill cannot take any other batteries and the 1.3 are not compatible with the lxt models. These are DIY tools, so if your in the trade looking to get tools for heavy use these aren't what you need. But also when comparing drills from one place to the next compare model numbers and batteries not just the title, makita do combi drills ranging from 99 up to 3-400+ that at a quick glance look very similar. Hope that helps for any future offers that seem too good to miss.
