aren't those the naff NiCd batteries?

Yes they are
#4
meh. Not voting - wouldn't buy them myself but may suit someone and Makita at £33 a unit with a battery is not a bad deal at all but the batteries will unlikely stand the test of time
#5
Just buy them and upgrade the batteries?? Surely at £99 there a deal
#6

If you find any Li-Ion batteries, please post the link - much appreciated!

These seem to be out of stock online and in store - I tried several post codes but no stock? Do you know any post code which has stock? Thanks!

Out of stock by me now there was loads but obviously people have taken head to the deal i posted :P

As the the battery replacements i can't seam to find any Li-Ion batteries replacements, but i can't see why it's not a good deal as the drill alone is £74

oh well can't please everyone.

I've just bought these (see link) as a replacement for a 2 drill set of the same type that i've had for 6 years. They're great little workers, and it was cheaper to buy this set than replacement batteries.

I'm not impressed with my Makita with LI-ION batteries. They go flat quickly when put under strain. I would choose ni-cads for the power and the lower cost so I vote hot for this deal. If I brought Li-ion again I would buy something bigger than my current 10.8 volt effort but you would have to pay £200 + to get something better than this deal.

Don't you mean naff lithium batteries, I got a full kit of each for dry lining, let me tell you my old red batteries are still blasting through the screws by the boxful two years since I stopped using my lithium equivalents, best thing is I was using my older red battery drills and screwguns 2 years BEFORE I bought the lithium so no I don't think so dude

Red batteries will last years longer
