Not a great deal seeing as its an old Model.

Screwfix are currently doing the newer model: Makita BHP453RFX 18V Li-Ion Combi Drill

For only £150, or £220 with 2 Batteries.

No waiting time and most stores have stock.

its the batteries that cost the money the body itself is quite cheap. you really need two batteries. not voting either way.
#12
Senses, that's the one I initially looked at. It's not a newer model as such. Makitas model numbers use the last digit to where an item is in the range ; eg. Xx1 is better than xx2 etc. My model is more compact and more powerful.

Qprneil, 20min charge i feel would be OK for most users. Also the chargers force coolsthe battery, do even if it's hot after use it will charge quickly :)
#13
the 453 is not an update of the 452 as the OP has stated, for example their is no led lighting on the 453! Screwfix used to sell the 452 at same price a while back, but now seem expensive in comparison with other suppliers such as Axtminster tools.

Op is correct, this is the 3.0Ah is battery not the 1.3 that screwfix have. That is more than double the capacity.
#17

This one? Farnells Product link
Cordless 18v Drill Driver with Lithium-ion Battery
£50.00 OFF
£228.93*
ORDER CODE: 167-6791

Thats plus VAT = £268.99, less 20% = £215.19 !

(Edit - That may be with 2 batteries (I would have to get clarification), but you do need to be a trade discount card holder?

Thats still more expensive :)

Some peoples posts on here are completely pointless. What's the point of replying in a thread with a price that's higher than the OPs and saying "yes please". Fcuking idiot!
