Are the tools there so you can repair the netbook?
#3
mumbojumbo
6 tools averaging £100 a piece, 1 torch at £20, Dell netbook at £219. Not much of a bargain.

I dont think you can buy a lithium tool for £100 each.

Screwfix has the same kit for £749 without the netbook, so I'd say it's a deal.

They're Makita. The drill alone is worth about £300: http://www.screwfix.com/prods/25754/Power-Tools/Cordless-Drills/Makita-BHP451RFE-Li-ion-18V-Cordless-Combi-Dril

I just priced this up on Screwfix and it works out at about the normal price if you take into account batteries - but you get a very cheap netbook. (e.g. angle grinder is £122 bare but £300 with 2x batteries, so all for £1600-(£200*6)=£800).

Actually its only worth about £130 as the above is complete with 2 batteries.

Its only a bare unit in the kit as the "Z" on the end of the part number means body only.

Yeah, posted before I'd priced up the set.

-BTD140Z Impact Driver £116

The above are average prices if you were to buy them separately so i would say the deal is a good price.

would love this set but not on my wages :x

This is a top set and most of the tools are worth well over £100 the SDS drill is around £200 for the bare unit.. these are 18v Lithium-ion.. and Makita are TOP quality tool, I've sold my laptop for £200, so I've paid £600 for all these tool.. I think its a cracking deal.

Even if that was the case. (which its clearly not), it would still work out cheaper to buy the set rather then everything separately.

This is without the SDS drill aswell as the netbook. :)

This is a cracking deal - if this is too much money for you then I'd recommend you look at the other drill driver + Impact driver sets as well ... £150 for Makita or Bosch Drill and Impact driver with 2 x Li-Ion batteries - bargain! Screwfix have just the impact driver for a similar price so you're getting a free drill driver essentially... look at...

http://www.angliatoolcentre.co.uk/bosch-gsr10-8-2v-li-10-8v-drill-driver-2-x-1-3ah-li-ion-batteries-supplied-in-l-boxx-with-gdr10-8v-impact-driver-body-only+free-screwdriver-bit-set-pid8104.html

The company is part of Ridgeons which is a huge company in East of England - you can buy with confidence that they aren't fly by night...

At these prices I am sorely tempted. I've never been on this site before but there appears to be some very keen prices. Thanks OP

P.S if you have never used an impact driver do not underestimate that just because it's 10.8volt that it isn't up to much... they are amazing and can drive 4 inch screws into joists without pilot holes if needs be.
#14
The 10.8v can drive 4" screws in to the joists with out pilot holes but not many to a charge! The 10.8v combo is a great price BUT it is only for second fixing * I have had the dewalt 10.8 combo for a year now! Much better off with a 14.4 or 18v for first fix, I opted for the bosch 18v impact with free 4.0amp battery from b&q for £124.99!!
