The Makita at bnq is Nicad batteries. Think I've seen a Li-ion at screwfix for 159?

So £99 for a drill, 2 lithium ion batteries and a toolkit from B&Q or £82 for 1 additional.

Or are these special high power lithium ion batteries that are better than the ones supplied ?

I will be very surprised if they are 3 amp hour lithium ion. All the ones i have seen in B&Q were the last gen ni-cd's.

surely its cheaper to buy a drill with 2 batteries??

buy from ebay with £65

Far too many copies to trust ebay. We'd regularly get folk coming to the Sites trying to sell loads of Makita tools but all were fake.

Lol at the site!! Cheap tat compared to makita!! You will be telling me that dewalt are just as good!!
rizla01
The Combi included with this set is similar to the SITE drill ((Screwfix copy of the Makita) but at lower price and also 18v so its a brill deal.http://www.screwfix.com/sfd/i/cat/63/p4769963_l.jpghttp://www.makitadirect.co.uk/acatalog/lbm_46dbb9e7443c375bd696bb9924345ecb_300_300_ffffff_85.jpgpity that the bats are only 1.3 Ah tho.I think there will be a few offers like this as Manuf's move over to Li - ion.
LOL at you.... The "cheap tat" Site is exactly the same device as the Makita. Makita's DIY range (turqoise with orange batteries) are made by the same company who make the likes of Screwfix's Site brand. Do not mistake the DIY range with the high end pro range from Makita.
THANK YOU.Someoneelse on here that knows what they are talking about.Christ. You only need to LOOK at them to see that they are the same manufacturer?
I'm confused by this banter and counter-banter. As one who is not in the trade, is this a good item or a budget range? Also, looking at the web site, these 2 items in the twin pack look almost identical, so what's the difference?

these are ideal for DIY jobs if your in the trade you need heavy duty ones but just for bits and bobs this will to the trick fine mate. the difference one is just a Driver (for screwing) then the other one has the "hammer" function for drilling walls etc

Farnell Trade Counter in Leeds have even better offers, when I last went yesterday. Including 20% off loyalty card. Yes Please!

This one? Farnells Product link
Cordless 18v Drill Driver with Lithium-ion Battery
£50.00 OFF
£228.93*
ORDER CODE: 167-6791

Thats plus VAT = £268.99, less 20% = £215.19 !

(Edit - That may be with 2 batteries (I would have to get clarification), but you do need to be a trade discount card holder?

Thats still more expensive :)

Some peoples posts on here are completely pointless. What's the point of replying in a thread with a price that's higher than the OPs and saying "yes please". Fcuking idiot!
