Tidman's Rock Salt is another natural product that meets the growing demand for a really coarse salt for culinary purposes. It is particularly suitable for use in salt mills.

This salt was even cheaper than Tesco Value own at 99p and the same size.

Its well over £1.30 everywere on-line and even going up to over 2.00 .

This is great salt, and yes you can really taste the difference, Tidmans is a part of Maldons, and top chefs use maldons.

Its a great buy and it was not on sale, so should be nationwide and on-line.

I tried using sea salt in our salt mill and almost nothing comes out. I didn't realise that I had to have special rock/sea salt. Does anyone else have this problem?

Rock salt this break up in big chunks or fine in mills, or table salt, which I only use to salt the water, which is like 40p for a massive tub.

You can only use rock salt in mills as the other stuff wont grind and like you say, nothing comes out.

Maldons is expensive by rock/sea salt standards and i've not tried this particular brand but I wouldn't use anything other than rock/sea salt for cooking or the table.
I'm sure it's been tested and is perfectly safe but there's just something about the name Sodium Ferro Cyanidethat puts me off using "table salt" - it's the anti caking agent used to make it run freely.
