Got this deal through Travelzoo's Top 20 deals, which I thought was an absolute bargain.

A 3-night break to Malta is now available for £85 per person -- that's less than you would pay for just one night in most London hotels, and a massive saving of £100 on the going rate for a Malta mini break.

This deal from Choice Holidays also includes a free upgrade to a Sea View room, worth £25 per night.

Included in the price are return flights and three nights' accommodation with breakfast at the seafront 4-star Kennedy Nova Hotel, in the heart of Malta’s busy shopping and seaside district, Sliema.

A bus stop opposite the hotel provides easy access to the capital city Valletta, and to the shopping and popular nightspots in St Julian’s -- so it is ideally based for exploring the island.

Airport transfers are available for an additional £20 per person.

Flights depart Birmingham airport on 9, 16, 23, 30 January; 6 February, 2011 and Leeds Bradford on 16, 23, 30 January.

Sounds like a great deal. Whats the climate like at that time of year and whats the location like?

Hotel sounds "ok for the price" from the reviews

Brrrrr in jan

Average 15c, high 19c, but considering it'll probably be -5c in the UK, 15c sounds like t-shirt weather
#5
I've been told that the temp can be anything between 10 and 18 at that time of the year....
#6
Whilst sailing round the Med we called there for the day... it was shut! Apart from churches, the whole place closes down on Sundays! That's fine, I can appreciate their religious views but there were plenty of blokes hanging about. They were like letches when they saw a woman. My wife and her female friends HATED the place. Could quite easily have got confrontational. Would never go back no matter what price this was selling for.

been to Malta 3 times in january, it's not sun tan weather but it's ok to get out and about in. One time in rained a lot but we still enjoyed ourselves. Valletta is a wonderful and beautiful city and I could happily spend weeks exploring it. On sunday mornings there's a massive and interesting market there. Virtually everyone speaks english and that makes it relaxing.

Is this price per person based on 2 sharing?

You have a yacht and you're on HUKD.. just kidding.

Malta will be absolutely dead at that time of the year. If you really want a cheap nice holiday go to Portugal.. i hear there are things to do no matter what season.

Does that include baggage allowance and credit card charges, as my experience of ryanair is there little extra's add up to quite a lot!

Your description is probably the exact opposite of my, and everyone else I've ever known go there, experiences.

Have to say it's quite a few years since I went there but surely it hasn't changed that much ? They used to love the British and bent over backwards to give us good service wherever we went.
MAD drivers mind so if you rent a car be aware !!

Fantastic bargain OP, have some heat. :)

Sounds good. Was there in Nov and its similar temps. Actually moving there in Jan to play poker fulltime :)

St Julians is nice, loads of nice restaurants and not far from valetta

£34.53 pp? For 3 nights? That would make this deal £123.59pp.
This is a better deal, or did you mean per room, and not per person?

Can you please advise if voting cold....why?

why? Why is it of interest to you if someone expresses their opinion and votes cold. Will they sack you from your job or take your kids away if this doesn't get hot votes?

Will you be going after anyone who voted cold without a good reason in your eyes?

Why did you post this deal on here? Was it for hot votes?
Do hot votes translate to some sort of discount for you from the retailer of your deal? Is there a top 100 list of deal posters which you are trying to climb.

After trisham3838's breakdown of this deal, assuming its correct, everyone should vote this cold on the principle that this costs over 50% more than it needs to.

This is of course, not an attack on a person but rather a practice. The practice of prostituting deals in the hope to illicit hot votes which are of no real value to anything other than the ego. If you get a hot vote you get a thumbs up. If you get a cold vote you get a thumbs down. End of story.
Many people take advantage of deals but don't vote either way, much like the many voters who hardly ever avail themselves of a deal yet always vote as a general rule.
Don't pursue voters for a "why" for goodness sake its really none of your business is it? people shouldn't be made to feel as they have to justify themselves with a reason when voting.

someone has asked does this include luggage allowance....it includes 10kg each in hand baggage...why would anyone want to take a case for 3 nights stay...as for credit card charges...i have a pre pay mastercard (as do many on here) therefore we do not incur any booking charges.

someone suggested Portugal at that time of the year,i would agree with them.

why? Why is it of interest to you if someone expresses their opinion and votes cold....

Maybe if you quoted (and read) the whole post you would see WHY DeeLite asked to explain. So here it is for you in bold as you're obviously having trouble: "Would love to get a really cheap bargain so if there are better deals out there please let me know."

And for your information voting without explanation is hardly expressing ones opinion!

Just so we are clear, I'm not implying people should or shouldn't explain themselves when voting, that's up to them.

Voted cold i'm afraid as the ryan air flights are so cheap i can almost get the price down to £100 on some properties for 3 nights for 2 people, since choice use ryan air as well it's obvious they are just putting something on top.

Not sure many people would vote cold specifically because they genuinely know of a better deal except the 1 or 2 that have. I would imagine that if they knew of a better deal they would either post details as a comment or post a separate deal thread about it.
With the exception of those few who use this site for money laundering and other international criminal activities, I'm pretty sure we all use this site in the same way. Believe me if you are after a good deal then you are surely on the right track for you have found us this deal and I'm sure your continued efforts will be rewarded....play on!

What a funny guy, with a user name like yours I'd guess you weren't serious. If this isn't just hot air then I must urge you stop this default hatred. Are you quick to become violent towards them too?
Imagine if we were all like this. No one would ever make friends. We would only have our families or loneliness. Imagine the rise in conflicts all for the lack of an introduction. It may be of course, just in your nature in which case there is nothing for it. You must stay away from the public. I hope you don't misunderstand what I say.
