I've a child on the way so I've been looking for a decent travel system at reasonable price. Just been to the Preston store and seen this system at half price. Looked an excellent deal and bought one. The offers on the web also.

Sales person said that they've been reduced by 50% because the model is being replaced. My first post so please be kind.

Well done for your first post OP

I personally think this was overpriced in the first place IMHO as is most of the Mamas & Papas stuff!

Good luck with your new bubs

i had a mamas and papas bought for me for my first kid.(i now have 4) I couldn't wait to get shot of it. Bloody awful it was, heavy and bulky. It hardly folded, couldn't get it in a car boot at all. I wouldn't reccommend them unless you drive a van or are prepared to walk everywhere.

To add balance, we had an M&P travel system and were very impressed with it.

It was excellent.

(and we have a VW Golf so not a van or a particularly big car.)

Definitely *not* worth £500.

Did a quick search on this model, and found only this:

http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=312331

Basically for use in pramette mode (facing the mother/father, which is considered desirable by childcare experts) it's horrid to push.

The multi-award winning pushchair of the year Pliko Pramette by M&Ps is an excellent product. It's £350 for pushchair and carseat:

http://www.babybyes.com/itemdetl.php/clashist/Wheeled_Goods/Mamas_and_Papas/findclas/Mamas_and_Papas/itemprcd/SO_Pramette_TS

Or the Silver Cross 3d:

http://ladybugsbaby.easywebstore.co.uk/contentitempage.aspx?contentid=263347 @ £310 w/car seat

Quite a bit more money, but this £250 product doesn't seem such good value when it's being discontinued as, presumably, it's crap.

Worth perhaps checking out in store, but wouldn't order it without trying it.
