These carseats have been this price for months, I nearly bought 2 but then I read the which? guide and in the "Don't buy' section it says,

We've also found three Don't Buys from 2006, which are the Jané Matrix Pro, and the Mamas and Papas Alto and Revo models.

Mamas and Papas Alto

This seat is designed for children from one year up to 12 (9-36kg). It’s secured using the car’s seat belt, which also secures the child. This is deemed appropriate for older children, but for most one-year-olds, there is a need for a separate harness to give appropriate support.

It’s difficult to use – we had great difficulty buckling the child securely into the seat. And the crash performance is very poor with unacceptably high loads in both front and side crashes. Don’t buy this seat

Pros: None.

Cons: Poor safety. Difficult to buckle up

So I imagine that is why it is so cheap. Instore also. I almost bought the pics too, but went instore to look and glad I didn't, weird colours.

Generally M&P's carseats are *****, stay away.

Personally not a fan of their buggies either.

I was looking at the pro-tour seat at mamas and papas as its a 1,2,3 for my 3yr old daughter..but there doesnt seem to be any reviews for it.. i may join which to have a look at theirs.

im looking for a car seat to replace her britax si eclipse (as my son will now use this) and cant seem to find anything which moves her up to a one with a belt across that isnt for a four year old... does anyone have any recommendations of a decent seat? much appreciated.

Yeh your probably right although I am not too sure about their age group. It said it was for stages 2-3 on the website I think??? I looked up what ages that was to see if it would do my one year old and several sites stated group 2/3 car seats were for over 4 year olds. Consequently no use for us. Perhaps they changed the group after the review?

Hugs to JB ;) How is it going girl?
