This is a great baby swing - very similar to the ones Mamas And Papas themselves are selling for £89, but without the MP3 input or inbuilt projection screen/canopy.

To all those people who say that you cant put a price on sleep - you can and its just £39.99 !

. Variable swing speeds
. Plays 5 tunes
. Detachable toy bar plus 3 detachable soft toys
. Removable washable cover
. Secure harness
. Suitable from birth to 6 months, approx 9kg
. Requires 4 x C batteries (not included)
. Complies with safety standards BS EN 12790 and BS 5852

FYI, the colours of the swing are not as garish in reality as they appear in the Argos product photo,

I have picked this up and can say that this is a very good quality baby swing. Its currently our little ones favourite sleeping chair and seems to work the magic on stopping her crying.

The tunes are better than most nasty casio jobs and the motorised swing mechanism works independantly of the tunes.

The swing collapses almost flat too - the base swings back 270 degrees (pivoting at the joint) and the seat collapses flat after it is released by a lever.

This swing has one upright as opposed to often seen two uprights, which means less chance of a baby getting its hands whacked on the bar (if the baby falls to one side).

Visual comparison of the £89 Mama and Papas Swings that uses the same frame and swing mechanism:

Someone did post a MotherCare swing, but having looked at it, I believe the build quality of the M&P swing is better than the MC one. It also seems to work effectively on 4xC's instead of the MC 4xD battereis.

Only downsides to the M&P swing are:
. I would prefer the volume of the tunes to have one more quieter volume setting.
. Installing/replacing batteries involves two screws and a fiddly battery cover - which is an unnecessary design IMO.

Good find OP

Just a heads up though - anyone who can get to huddersfield may be able to pick up one of the M&P ones (we bought one last week) from the factory shop for £49.99. And actually ours is in similar colours to the argos one as well (albeit with the canopy, etc)

Can't tell you how good (effective) it is yet, as the new buger is not due until Nov.
