I happened to pop into Mamas and Papas store today and found a huge half price sale. Almost all the baby and maternity clothes were half price as well as a lot of furniture, cribs, sleeping bags, accessories etc!

you obviously all on here have tooooo much money to shop here anyway.its far to expensive and well over priced as i have found.i just found a store in the market in hanley stoke on trent that does all the same stuff at less than the big stores anyway.like a full travel system which was only £99.00 and was winnie the pooh so i dont recoment the mammas and pappas.
#11
The sales assistant also told me that if the pram was reduced further before I collect it they will refund me the difference!!! I thought that I was good customer service

LOL. I don't have the money to buy these super expensive buggies (would like to, but having had babies before I am well aware of the short time they are used and the fact that everyone uses a stroller style buggy after a few months because they are easy!) however I would not recommend a travel system that costs £99, especially that hideous Winnie The Pooh one. Not very good quality and babies should not be put in car seats on pushchairs anyway, car seats should only be used when necessary. (Like in cars) They should be flat whenever possible.
If you want to save money, I would recommend a decent car seat from the sales, but do not by a travel system one as this will only encourage you to leave the baby in the car seat, and a very comfortable stroller, easy fold easy store.

shop where? What is your point. She obviously has enough money to shop at Mamas and Papas for her babies pushchair. Mamas and Papas stuff is lovely, I had a second hand cot that is now on it's 6th baby and is still lovely. The quality is very good and if I could afford a lush pram for the first few months for my new baby, I would. Can't justify it for baby no.6, but 50% off Mamas and Papas is a good deal if you shop there. You obviously don't and prefer the market, so why bother trying to put people down who shop there?

Anyone got the Pro Sleep IP car seat? Any good?
#16
heat added. good find... but any voucher codes??? dont fancy paying for delivery :(
#17
Over priced and the worse customer services I've ever come across !!
#18
overpriced in the 1st place. also very poor returns service if ur pushchair developes a fault.
#19
I have bought things online and only ever returned/exchanged instore, and have found them to be very good. I have only ever bought sale items.... but no problems. Had a Pliko that lasted years and find the maternity clothes good.

Good find, I was interested in the Pro-Tour car seat until I found this review - http://reviews.argos.co.uk/1493-en_gb/3761126/reviews.htm (the reference to Which survey).

Can anyone in possession of this car confirm/deny this OR recommend one to me for a 12 month old baby?

Thanks.

Maxi-Cosi Priori XP  excellent car seat (we have 2) and several friends also have this seat for their children.

As to other peoples comments, yes M&P stuff is not cheap, however the bits we have are very well made and they also received excellent reviews in Which! reports (we did a lot of research before buying and didn't get M&P just because of the brand name).

As with most things in life there are some things that are cheaper and some that are more expensive. Just because something is cheaper, doesn't make it better... so get down off your soap-boxes :whistling:

If someone wants a cheaper 'Winnie the Pooh' buggy over a M&P buggy that's their choice, but personally, I would say that if you can afford it I would definately recommend M&P goods - you get what you pay for (we also have a Koochi umbrella type buggy for general through-around use and this is nowhere near the quality of the M&P)

thanks just bought some really cute clothes online - I love mamas and papas quality but only buy in sales as cannot justify full price. Also got 4 'thats not my.......' board books for £7.50. Really good price if you are already buying from them and paying P&P anyway. The £7.50 set have dragons, robots, monsters etc in, there is also a girls or boys set for £10.50 each set of 4. My children love these board books and would i thoroughly recommend them.

LOL, whats with the bizarre use of capital letters? Doesn't make your post easier to read. I for 1 am not a rich person, and if you want so called 'rich' people to keep their comments to themselves, why on earth are you making public comments and being rude? I am so 'poor' I qualify for the Sure Start maternity grant, but will not be using it to buy a really expensive pram as money is very tight and that grant needs to go a long way. Obviously you have some weird issue with people shopping at Mamas and papas, so why not avoid the thread.
I know exactly the Winnie the Pooh system your are talking about, it's widely available and rather cheap and nasty. It is in no way similar to the Mamas and Papas range, and if you test drive both you will see that (although obviously with your problems and issues, you won't I imagine you would argue black was white) It is made by Hauck, who I think are not very good and make really bad buggies.
I have no intention of being ripped off, I buy a few nice bits in the sale from Mamas and Papas, and Mothercare. I buy second hand. I would not buy a Mamas and Papas carseat, some (like the Alto) have an appalling review, others, like the Primo Viaggo (which I have used) makes newborns far to upright and is not very good at all. I use Britax car seats.
I used a second hand Pliko, and it was very good for 3 years. I don't like the 'Skate' and Joolz, I think they look ugly. But if you wanted to buy some things from them then a half price sale is good.
For my baby, I have bought http://www.kiddicare.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/productdisplay0_10751_-1_52481_10001?cm_sp=homepage-_-promo_banner_cs-_-britax_visio
because I can't afford more, although, I am test driving it with my 2 year old, and am really pleased with it.
Lets not forget, that you came on to this thread with comments like 'you obviously all on here have tooooo much money to shop here anyway.its far to expensive and well over priced as i have found.i just found a store in the market in hanley stoke on trent that does all the same stuff at less than the big stores anyway.like a full travel system which was only £99.00 and was winnie the pooh so i dont recoment the mammas and pappas.' and 'you obviously have to much money to shop here anyway......' which is very rude. You did not say- that you found other bargains, you accused people of shopping at this store of having too much money and being rich.:whistling:
If you are happy with your little cheap system then that is great for you, but there is no need to put other people down.

Quite right. If someone CAN afford to shop at M&P why shouldn't they?

You wouldn't tell someone not to buy a Ferrari when they could drive around in a Fiat Panda - rich333444 is obviously an idiot. :p

But then again, as they say "there's always one ...!"

The person who was looking for a voucher code.....if you sign up to the website you get a £5 free voucher which will cover postage & packaging!!

The pro sleep car seat is much heavier than the other m&p's one and it does not fit the frames of many of their prams.....only the herbie as I'm aware.

Just ordered a bunch of stuff for my little one - thanks, heat added!

Oh dear... someone has a chip on their shoulder! If people want to, and can afford to, shop at M & P far be it from you to comment on it.

hi there. i am in the same boat as u and looking at the mamas and papas sale was tempted to buy it but decided against it because it only has 1 recline position and which survey put me off too. I had two options a maxicosi priory sps (tesco 79.99, with voucher only 71 pound) and the other one was ferrari carseat mothercare. I went for the ferrari one, and have just placed my order for it. Reviews of that one are very good. Maxi cosi is good too... hope it helps

Mamas and Papas stuff is lovely. I've never had nicer bedding for my daughter's cot and I'm on my fourth child. (Not much spare money here ) The prams and pushchairs are beautiful quality.
There's a factory shop up off the M62 (i think that's right) and the prices are extremely reasonable. It may help to think about the resale value as well. M&P always gets a good resale price on ebay.

Let's stop ranting about who can afford what and where to shop. Some of you people are extremely rude to each other. It's christmas. :stocking: Goodwill to all men. (and M&P pram buyers):santa:

N.B The children's clothes are small. Buy the next size up!
