I'm sorry but your budgie WILL get it's head stuck, i accidentally bought a parrot cage for my PF Lovebird and he can put his through the bars fully in and out (25mm spacing). My Cockatiel's head would probably go through but not come out as freely.

With a 18 mm gap your budgie will be able to get it's in between the bars just about, the slightest bit of panic when this happens can cause the bird to become trapped.

I really wouldn't risk it, especially if you're away from home a lot. Birds have heads that look wide, but their really not, their just fluffy and veiny underneath.

As a owner of 2 birds i understand that you're trying to provide the best accommodation for them, but mistakes do happen like mines recently with buying a parrot cage,

It does look a nice sized cage, but if the bar spacing of 18mm is correct, it is very wide for a budgie.

Your talking to someone who did there research and bought this cage for 2 budgies!!

If you havent got a budgie or this cage then I wouldn't comment if I was you. . .

Here is the proof that this cage is perfect and the right size for a budgie!!!

I DO have budgies, that is why I am commenting! 18mm is far too wide and your budgies could escape through that gap, or even worse, get their heads stuck. It was sold as a parrot cage for a reason...budgie cages are in the bird cage section, not parrot. Better luck with your research next time!

The pictures looks like an illusion. In reality the gap is small!! And about the same as the last budgie cage. . .

Your not the one who is standing in front of the cage. If the budgie could get out the gap then how could the budgie get its head stuck??

I can see the width of the budgie and the bars on the cage, there is no way they could escape. I think you need to buy the cage in person then comment. I have the cage right in front of me but you don't!!

I'm looking at the measurements, not the cage...18mm is the same however you look at it. There's no need to be so defensive... you like it, you think it suits your budgies, you bought it and are happy with it. Personally, I don't like it and would not risk putting my budgies in it, therefore I won't be buying it. I know of a budgie that managed to get out of a cage with a bar spacing of 16mm and he was a large budgie, yours look small, but obviously this could just be an illusion :D

lol well I guess we have our own say but here are more pics :P & the pics do make the bars look wide but in reality its really not :o)
