Why would they need too???
there will always be 70k+ fans at any utd game, city struggle to fill their stadiums at the best of times and its wee deals like this that might fill those extra 15k seats
#15

You clearly don't know our playing policy for the Carling Cup.

Come on you Gunner Juniors.
#18
The thing is, would City be doing this deal if they could actually fill their council rented ground or attact a decent crowd?
When Utd played Wolves in the Carling Cup, Utd charged full price and had over 50,000.
On the same night City played at home, charged £1 and struggled to get 23,000.

I do wish Utd would do something similar, as for a lot of the Carling Cup games, they take for granted the support with the prices they charge. Even with 50,000 in the ground, that still leaves 20,000 empty seats, which should have been given to local kids.

I'm not a football fan, but love the opportunity for kids. Hot from me!

Get over Adebayor:cry: You lot forced him out but don't wan't him playing for anyone else. The past was yours but the futures mine, you're all out of time.
As for utd......70000 tourists. How many would you get if you were awful for 20 years

Yes, but he won't get the opportunity, It'll be Bendtner and Vela up front. RVP may get a place on the bench if he nags enough.

So some of the local youngsters who would love the chance to go and see Utd live but cant afford to the chance . 20000 empty seats against wolves .. they could have filled them with a similar deal.
#27
Good Deal! They have to do something to fill there ground.

United fans making things up again - shock horror!
United ALWAYS get over 70,000 or there was also 25000 empty seats at old trafford? Cant both be true.

I was at the city game that night and ticket was £20.

City had the 24th highest average attendance in Europe last season. Top 15 this year.

I'd rather have 10000 real fans than 75000 carrier bag clutchers.

This is not on general sale yet is it though, says mon 16th november so we cant buy until then, is this correct?

City's cup final. let bellamy and his ilk beat gunners' reserves while arsene saves it for the meaningful contests...and if gunners boys turn over city, so much the better. no lose for arsenal really...

(must admit, i like to see city doing well-even if they're accumalating a few hateful SOBs. Now chelski and man u know what it's been like for arsenal for many years (remember swp)...throw your ill gotten gains at any half decent player even if you've no intention of playing him as long as he doesn't go to a rival)

Like who? Name me one player that City bought this summer who hasn't played? Everyone makes out like we have an enormous amount of strikers yet I only count 7 compared to United's 6. You could argue that Giggs plays as a midfielder most of the time but so can Tevez, Robinho and Bellamy.

I think City have learnt form Chelsea's mistakes and have been a little more cautious, although the media would have you believe different. Hughes has bought mostly Premiership tested players as that has been the big problem for other clubs (see Veron, Shevchenko, Fabregas*)

As for the players he has bought from outside the Premiership all have looked good. De Jong is ridiculously strong in a def midfield role and Robinho, although having a shaky away form last season, proved successful most of the time and, I imagine, showed a lot of other players that City was a good team to go to- something which is priceless in my mind- but if there is a price, my Middle Eastern friends will pick up the tab :p.

* that last one was a joke. That kid is pure gold.

Man city? all that money spent to buy a cup or two and it isnt looking likely, Arsenal to win for me:-D dont get me wrong, city had a good start but they wont keep it up and will sink fast in my opinion, ok, im ready for an onslought now from city fans, but its just my opinion:thumbsup:

well first things first, the red scum make season ticket holders pay for carling cup games and count them in the attendance if they turn up or not. so the 50,000 dim wits may have only been half that.
