Ok, this is a combination of deals from Easyjet and Holiday Inn, but for £150 for flights and 2 nights FIVE STAR hotel, with access to Spa, Pool, Gym, Free internet etc etc for 2 people (£75 each!), I think it's a good deal! I just booked for November...!

Flights from Manchester or Gatwick to Sofia during Nov are currently £23.99 one way, £13.99 back (current offer is £10 off per flight, so this may change as the offers change). Book with no bags/ visa debit, etc. Total = 77.96 for 2 return flights

For the hotel, use the http://www.holidayinn.co.uk/vauxhall link to reach the 241 page. This is for 'selected' hotels and most of them aren't selected, but the new 5* Holiday Inn in Sofia is one of them! Rates for weekends (Fri/Sat/Sun) = 35euro per room per night with the 241 offer! This doesn't include breakfast, but does include access to the Spa/Pool/Gym, which is 30euro per person per day on the site normally!

Flights are available at this price throughout November and towards the end of October from both Manchester and Gatwick.

Flights = £77.96
Hotel = £72.86 (35euro per night + tax @ 1.17 Euro to pound (nationwide Visa card exchange rate)

Intercontinental/Holiday Inn are currently offering 7% on quidco too ;-) I'm not sure if this will track because of the http://www.holidayinn.co.uk/vauxhall link. I tried... 1) Visit Link http://www.holidayinn.co.uk/vauxhall 2) click through quidco 3) Search via the search option that you access through the Vauxhall link 4) Click through quidco again 5) book via the search results page. No idea if it'll work, but if it does you are looking at about £6 quidco :-)

Btw, before people start saying that there are cheaper Hotels out there, I know! But if you fancy treating a special someone to a 5* break.... They don't need to know you got it cheap ;-) lol.

Hostels in Sofia are about 15 euro a night per person, so for 2 people you are looking at 30euro for a hostel! 5 euro extra for 5* = deal if you ask me!!

Sorry, that was meant to be a - (dash) not a minus! I'll edit, lol

Will this work on the weekend?

Who did you book the flights with? :-)

Bulgarian 5* will be more like a 3* for most places - still not a bad deal though.
#13
The hotel has excellent reviews on Tripadvisor

I've selected 12-13 Nov (2 nights) it's coming out at €200 is that including flights? I can't see any flight info, I just selected those dates, chose a standard double room for two adults?

It's Holiday Inn surely their star ratings are the same throughout the world :?

Ok managed to get it down to €103 following the instructions, are you booking the flights direct with Easyjet? Seperate from the hotel booking? Would like to go for my Birthday in Nov.

EDIT: Ok, hotel is coming out at around £86 for two, for two nights and flights direct from Easyjet, Man - Sof flying out 12 returning 14 Nov - £31 - Total £117 for two people all inclusive, i'd say that was a pretty hot deal, don't know why it's expired! HOT DEAL heat and rep given, that's my birthday sorted.
#17
Probably been expired cos the easyjet promo has runout (£10 off per flight each way, so price is now £20 more). Still a deal at £170 i think!

P.s. Quidco tracked as well as using the 241 deal!!
#18
If an admin reads this, please can you un-expire and i'll edit the price to £170.

Thanks!

No worries, i'll repost with the correct price!

Visit a holiday inn in Greece or Turkey and you will think otherwise.

I mean this Bulgaria hotel could well be a top 5* but hotels tend to take their lead from holiday companies and a 5* Ibiza hotel does not equate to a 5* London/NY hotel for example.

What is that based on? Ignorance i expect.

They can significantly vary. Star ratings are often based on facilities (supposedly) available, rather than quality and actual availability. I've stayed in 5* hotels (through work) before where the pool and gym were "closed for maintenance", went back three months later, still closed for maintenance.

Look around the city

Do a bit of shopping

Check a nice looking restaurant out

Enjoy the 5 star room.

Based on experience. See in my further post I explained my reasoning and admitted it was speculation.
