Deleting the homophobic comments. No call for it..
#8
Mods on here pick and choose what they want to delete depending how they think themselves - and so many prats on here i hardly bother posting -its not worth it - less hassle on mse and even less when you just read the sites and don''Tt bother posting anything anymore .
Sly inuendos ond homophobic remarks are just about right for silly children on here !

Its what i do now-cannot be bothered - only making one last point over this .
banned#9
How do I complain that several posts I find offensive have been left in this thread after two lots of homophobic posts have been removed?

Scratch that - I notice the dodgy ones from BOTH sides appear to be removed now.

I wouldn''t bother - i found a lot of personal remarks left in a thread the other week -obviously the mod found them funny and left them - waste of time posting anything to be honest !

Post a deal and someone pulls it to bits too .

why is this cold? is it a good deal or not? im not gay and wont be going to a gay pride parade but thats not reason for me to vote cold:thinking:
#12
I'm amazed they charge for this? Maybe I missed the entire point of these things...

Heat/rep for the saving though
#13
i think its because people are having a laugh at the deal which is just like laughing / mocking any other deal but the comments are being deleted so even if a fantastic deal it wont even get above freezing now - would have been different if they had complaints but im guessing the power of a super mod with their own opinion of how far something can go before being offensive over rides all - has anyone been offended? probably not - irish people laugh at irish jokes the scots laugh at the scots jokes and i am sure a few gays here have/would have smiled in the same way

Just out of purely hypothetical interest, would the mods allow a deal promoting a Straight Pride march?
#15
No not homophobic I just have a sense of humour (unlike some) next you will be banning me for saying Jehovah

What is the world coming too :?

Never understood this...what's to be proud about??? I'm a hetero (...cue the 'he must be gay with a statement like that' comments) but I don't consider any 'pride' in that, it's just what I am!

...these mass 'events' just clog up the bleedin' city centres...you could almost say they're a pain in the ar5e! I'll get me coat
#17
You have to pay to be gay?.. shouldn't this be free - no different to something like notthing hill carnival really

Think the point is they're a minority that's often discriminated against/abused/etc, including by the law.
Hence them being proud of what they are, despite what other people think, or whatever.

Either way i'm seriously amazed they charge for this, unless this is something different from what i thought it was?
#19
I'm split between shocked and saddened that you've got to pay for this parade. How utterly, utterly ****. Parades are meant to be happy, free things, where people give you stuff. When you're a kid, this should be sweets, little plastic flags, and cardboard hats. When you're a grown-up watching a gay parade go by, this should be condoms, eccies, and hair gel sample tubs. They make everyone feel happy. I kinda thought that'd be why the gay parades existed, since it's lots of fun seeing a procession of flamboyant homos dressed as indians going by, plus all the hawt lezzers in the crowd snogging and shizzle.

£15? Pfft. I'd sooner spend that on the train fare down to Brighton.
#20
+1 to the why the why does this thing have a fee? just happens the street dont it? not in a venue, would be pretty ridic if it was in like a stadium
suspended#21
Brighton Pride is free..... therefore I am voting this post cold. If Brighton can do it then so can Manchester!
#22
They expect us to pay to watch their exhibitionism?!

You've got to admire their cheek ;-)

No, but Michael FitsPatrick will be. In fact now I think of it Patrick FitsMichael will be too...

I would be very interested in what the moderators have judged to be homophobic. Swearing and insults should correctly be removed, but a little humour here and there, surely no issue. For example if I said "I believe it to be wrong actively indulge in same sex" - is that homophobic or an opinion ?

Gay used to be such a happy term that was used by all, until the gay rights movement came along and sodomized the word.
#29
Guys, lot of misconceptions about this event flying around. I'm a Manchester bar and club journalist so I can clear a few things up.

The parade is free, like all parades with floats going round a city would be.

What the ticket buys is entry to the Canal Street/Gay Village site, which is condoned off and has round the clock entertainment for the duration of the Aug bank hol weekend. This includes specially-built stages with live appearances on them and most of the bars who will draft in more DJs than normal. The clubs usually make extra effort as well.

It's one huge party with a lot of the money going to charity and one of the reasons for fencing off the area and making it a pre-booked wristband event is to keep out troublemakers and drunks who might have otherwise stumbled into the event and caused upset.

From what members of the gay community tell me, some think it's a big commercial mess that they'd rather avoid but others will treat it as if it's NYE and push the boat out.

To be honest, some of you could have Googled this event and seen for yourself rather than jump to wrong conclusions.

What a gay deal.

Before anyone puts a single penny into this, they should read this interesting blog post:

Once again the moronic element of HUKD (ever growing?) vote without thinking and post some really purile comments. No, this is not a hot deal for me as i neither live in/near Manchester or am I gay (not that you have to be gay to go to the event, i guess) but if this is the cheapest price to buy the Tickets then it shouldn't be voted cold whatever your small little minds think!

Why do gays need a march? Can they not
just live their lives without having to shout
from the rooftops.

LMAO @ 'purile'. Free cloo: If you really want to appear intellectually superior to the "moronic element", it might help if you learned how to use a spill-chucker.

Thanks. Well spotted. Time for my bed i think (don't know how to spell check on HUKD without putting into "word" but usually seem to notice/edit mistakes after i post, my bad ), but it isn't about appearing superior .

It's about the idiots that spew garbage and vote deals cold just cos they don't approve. I thought this was a deals site. Getting so bad that sometimes the temp of a deal is worthless/

What a load of ignoramuses, infantile cretins on this site .
I bet this gets removed but the homophobic stuff stays and the petty remarks as no doubt some "mod" -i use this term loosely will find them funny.

Do you know what -i don''t care if i get banned as this site and Mse has the same deals on anyway and so does offer of the day site. - you all copy the deals of each other and try to let others think how clever and kind you are for finding them !

Just the sort of remark i expected !
Okay for all the homophobic and sly digs then !

I see its wrong to take offence to these nasty remarks that you try and make out are only "jokes"
