Newly redesigned, the 190XPROB makes the famous Manfrotto-patented horizontal centre column feature even easier to use. Now, by extending the column to its highest vertical position, it can be swung round to horizontal without removing the head or disassembling the column itself, so switching between framing and positioning setups is more convenient than ever. The ergonomics of the leg angle release mechanism and the quick action leg locks themselves have also been greatly improved.

I understand this is a named tripod and everything, but it IS aluminium and doesn't have a head. What makes this a better buy than jessop's own carbon fibre one for the same price?

One of these will last you a lifetime, chances are the Jessops one is cheaply made and something will fail within a year :(

i saw the jessops one and liked it. But still quite heavy? Is there such a thing as a good yet light tripod? Or is that where monopods come in?

What are the warranties on Manfrotto tripods? If they're that confident about their craft then they should have fairly extensive ones.

The is a law of tripods, it states a tripod can be any TWO of the following.

1) Sturdy
2) Lightweight
3) Inexpensive
