Don't forget 5% back with quidco!

Equally influenced by glam and punk, the Manic Street Preachers came barrelling out of the gate with enough narcissism and nihilism for both movements combined. Surviving even the mysterious disappearance of their guitarist, the Manics were Wales's biggest musical export since Tom Jones, and, in turn, became the forefathers of a very vocal movement of young Welsh bands in the late 1990s.

* 4. Motorcycle Emptiness

yes, yes, yes, yes!

Anyone who doesnt love that song should be shot. No arguments, no blindfold, no last cigarette. Bop, Bop, Bop!

BTW who else here is still waiting for the Revolution? I thought the Street Sweepers were organising it?

These are their only two good albums - I totally lost interest after these... and how a band can go from amazing to dull when the band member who didn't even play on the records (on stage they even turned his guitar right down - you could never hear it!) goes AWOL I can never understand. I saw them once when they reformed without Ritchie and that was enough for me!

But these are great albums, even if they do disown the second one these days.

Nah, it kinda fizzled out when they used Motorcycle Emptiness for that T-Mobile advert

Still baffled by that one :?

WHAT?? The holy bible is their masterpiece, with most of the lyrics written by Richey.

Anyway, these two for a fiver, go for it they are a class apart from any band in the last 20 years in my opinion.

I know - I just couldn't get into anything that I hadn't seen with Ritchie in 'em!
