Hi, I happen to work at a branch of SuperDrug and today was helping a colleague sort out some new tags we received. There were dozens of tags with a yellow colour and the word 'Clearance' written on them and for most items, they were priced at 20p. The 20p items included the following:

Several LYNX DRY Roll-Ons
Several SUPERDRUG own-brand razers and shaving gels/foams
Several OIL OF OLAY/ULAY products
Many different SUNSILK shampoos and conditioners
Several WILKINSON SWORD disposable razers and X3 blades (no Quattro though)
Several GILLETTE MACH 3 shaving foams
TUSK (mens) deodorant

Some products of a brand-name like 'BETTY DEAR' (I am not sure of these though)
Some cosmetics of a brand like 'LUSCIOUS LIPS' (again I am not sure of these)

In addition, they will be selling CALGON dishwasher tablets for 99p (usual price £3.79)

My supervisor told me that these prices will begin from tomorrow (22nd October) until stocks run out. As far as I am aware, it is a NATIONWIDE thing, since we were sent new shelf tags with SKU nubers on to put on the shelves - whereas if we are doing an in-store mark-down for damaged items etc, we move the products into a clearance area and do not use shelf tags!!

I would recommend going to larger stores, since my medium-sized store does not have most of the 20p items available (e.g. the Meadowhall store would be a good bet) but it is still worth taking a look at your local store, since they are bound to have at least some of the items (as long as the staff haven't cherry-picked them), Please also keep an eye out for those yellow shelf tags on other items not mentioned in this post as I know I have not been able to remember everything I saw earlier!

P.S. This is my first post :)

P.P.S. To make it even cheaper, if you have bought a product from SuperDrug recently and have retained the second part of your till receipt (the survey voucher), go on the website and complete a short survey in order to validate your voucher and then bring it along to get 10 % off these prices!

Thanks. By the way, in other related Superdrug tips, the Dailty Express on Saturday 25th October will be printing a voucher for a free 500ml bottle of Ribena (any variety) at Superdrug. Regarding fragrances: the 30ml bottle of 'DARLING' by KYLIE MINOGUE will drop to £10 very soon and the 30ml bottle of 'TOMMY' by TOMMY HILFIGER is something like £9.35 (whereas the 50ml bottle is £26) :)

Strangely, the mods don't want you post things like this as you are promoting the store you work for.

Daft, innit?

I always have, I've received some quite good feedback from some too. Others not so great.
I personally, not being biased or ought. Think that it's good to have inside info on sales like this...
it's not like it's a small company this is a large nationwide chain of shops... the op is hardly going to gain from this are they....

C'est la Vie - but then at least you get to look out for absolute bargains and get them before they get sold out!

Another advantage for staff members is what I call 'accidental reductions' meaning where HO have reduced an item commonly as its old stock but not sent the store the price tags. No one knows till it gets scanned.

The way you find this out (aside from searching your pricing computer at work!)is when an unassuming joe public wants to buy the item only to find its gone down xx% in price!

My flatmate used to get absolute gobsmacking price reductions - once in a while - simply by being on the tills and serving customers at Superdrug - as I did when at PCWorld. I recall buying a PC Desk and Chair for £2.94 as a printer for 97p! S'not all bad...

Err - on the 10% discount for filling in the survey, well the superdruggies may not like this but I have NEVER filled in a survey and always got me 10% off. How? I simply put in a random 5/6 alphanumeric code on the receipt - and its always worked! :p

Great 1st post - I have 3 superdrugs to visit tomorrow!
