With the imminent release of the NR1601 Slim-Line AV Receiver, the NR1501 is on sale to make way, but not for long because there's only about 20 left!

Product Dimensions: W x H x D (mm): 440 x 367 x 105

Product Information

At last! The Marantz NR1501 brings high quality home cinema and a slimline case to the AV market.

If you've always wanted a good quality home cinema system but have lacked the space needed by the sizable cases, then you'll find the Marantz NR1501 the perfect solution. With a height of just 105mm, it is around fifty percent lower in profile than even its slimmest competitors and nearly half the height of some of the more portly models.

Although the NR1501 gets off to an impressive start with its looks, it's still the sound quality that really impresses. With an EI transformer and good quality components the NR1501 sounds far more powerful than its slim height might suggest. Furthermore, as with all Marantz products, the sound quality is first-rate. To enhance the sound quality still further, a Pure Direct function bypasses the decoding circuitry for a purer, more accurate sound with stereo music.

In terms of home cinema functionality, the NR1501 has everything you'd expect from an AV receiver of this class. A full 7.1 output lets you enjoy surround sound with added realism from a second set of high-mounted front speakers. Working in conjunction with this ideal speaker set-up you'll find Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD decoders offering full HD audio reproduction to match HD vision. The results are accurate surround sound with amazingly pin sharp imaging and a truly enveloping sound quality.

The NR1501 also makes few, if any, compromises when it comes to socketry. Four HDMI inputs is now the industry standard at this level and lets you plug in a Blu-ray player, HD games console, HD TV receiver and HD Camcorder or DVD player. A full range of component, composite, phono and digital audio connections make the NR1501 every bit as flexible as its full-size rivals.

Like most modern AV receivers, setting up the slim Marantz is far easier than days gone by. MRAC uses a supplied microphone to automatically set the correct speaker levels depending upon the room's acoustics. Similarly easy to use is the onscreen display with easy to follow graphics.

Not just slim, but stylish, too, the Marantz NR1501 uses a sculptured, metal front panel to reduce the visual bulk still further. There can be little doubt that this is one of the most attractive home cinema receivers money can buy.

Good looking and yet a solid performer. The Marantz NR1501 has got it all!

Ha Ha funny never heard that joke about buying unknown crap... LOL
Dude that joke was old the day after it was made ,when 1000's of people said the same joke everytime a sony or something came up.

Good amp just not huge amounts of power, Ok for bookshelf speakers
#9
Wont these be obsolete in a couple of years when they start turning off analogue transmitters, wouldn't you be better to buy a separate amp and a throw-away FM/AM tuner?
But If you don't mind having a redundant feature on your kit, and I guess there's plenty of inputs for DAB unit.

Wow that remote is big LOL

Pretty depressing to see this when I've just bought an SR308 :(

So tempted to take it back and get one of these, ngghhh...

Well 1000's found it funny and still do.

P.s. Dude, anyone who calls people "dude" has no credibility and are usually the people who go scooting by on their skateboard because they think they're cool but in fact they look a bit of a prat.

Are you 7 years old? That joke died ages ago. Wasn't funny then either.

I suppose you have to have a sense of humour to find it funny which seems to be missing in your case.

same here mate i bought one last week even though it fits nice i would of still got this as massive amounts of power are not needed or the next door neighbors will be round.

Not many reviews of this, I can find one decent review of it.
And it doesn't have a lot of power but its exactly what I need. My onkyo 505 is just too big, and thats one of the smaller amps. This should be far more suitable. and looks a lot better too.
And plus I need to upgrade to a system with 4HDMI switching.

Then i need to change from xbox to xbox slim, PS3 to PS3 slim, change my HTPC to a small atom based one and I'll have cleared out most of my cabinet so i can get some airflow in there.

anyway its cheaper than anywhere else, so Hot vote from me.

Does anyone know an AV amp that is slim DEPTH wise, this is as deep as my current Yamaha, I don't care about height, I want it slim the other way.

Thanks

I think the Onkyo 508/308 at 33cm depth is one of the smaller sizes you can get.
