omisnad Avatar

Mario and friends once again jump into the seat of their go-kart machines for the first Wii installment of this popular franchise. New features this year are an online racing mode, new motorbike vehicle types, a special balancing system for new and veteran players, and (in its initial release) a special Mario Kart wheel packaged with the game.

NB This does include the wheel. Please leave some rep if you think its a good deal.

Lot of ambiguity on price though!!

... Right .... and did you read my comments about Tescos above ? ... Firstly i assume its including the wheel, since somebody posted elseware that Tescos/ASDA wasnt. Also ADSA are even more scarse - My nearest ADSA is 70 miles away. Even if your nearest ASDA was a few extra miles away, you would soon lose any savings due to petrol costs ... is a few pence really good enough reason to vote cold? Its still alot better than Argos, GAME, PCworld or Woolworths which is where i was going to purcahse it from originally. Surely theres room for both our deals on the 'hot' page if it avoids people spending an extra the £7.

:whistling:

Great Find! Think this might be £27.71 in Tesco! Wheel is included too.
#7
Good find here somes heat, People should not moaning and go and buy it rather than moaning at the very tiny price difference at Asda
#8
Sainsburies will do for me-all copies come with the wheel
#9
So pleased I grabbed this today as I forgot to order. Unbelieveably addictive. With a wheel but also with signs saying one per customer which Ive not seen before at Sainsburys.
#10
As promised - my first ever photo upload

Cheers OP - I just picked one up from Sainsburys thanks to
your thread - I shall have one very excited little boy when I
pick up from school!! :)
#12
Thanks buddy for the excellent deal and will have to go check it out now. ;)

Is GAME selling it for £35 because that is a huge saving even if the store is tempting me with a free Mario kart hat if I buy from GAMe. :P

My local GAME was 'selling' it for £35 - only they werent actually 'selling' it cause they dont have enough stock to cover the preorders. They told me the only way i could get one at GAME is to try on Monday and see if some people that preordered hadnt picked up their copy. :w00t:

This is a better deal

serach ebay Item number: 180231860723

£99 wtf

Been playing this all week and itt's great. It works with either the wii remote (motion sensor control) or the old Gamecube controller. Live is very nice and the games I tested have been lag free.

Good to see that if you're in front it tries it's best to blast you off the course with bomb after bomb lol - just like the good old days.
#16
Be sure to check that your local Sainsburys has a game counter before setting off!
#17
yay! finally made it hot - well done omisnad :w00t:

I agree with Kmac, no need for moaning about deals. Either ignore if you don't want it...or get out and hunt one of them down to save YOUR money. I posted the Asda deal but I am voting this HOT. There is no competition; just savings for us all.

Wherever you get it, stocks will fly out at this price so don't hang around.

I was really pleased to have picked up my copy from woolworths in Tooting this morning after Play cancelled my order (grr) and was happy to have only paid 32.97 for it. But this is a great deal, clearly all the supermarkets have decided that this will sell like hotcakes (there were 3 people waiting outside woolworths this morning and all to buy mario kart).

Seems like nintendo hold back copies of games , so people panic buy.

never come across any other sold out games,
#21
Bottom line on these Asda/Tesco/Sainsbury deals guys. Is anyone getting a copy of a good game and saving themselves some money in the process. If so, then please vote Hot....and enjoy.
#22
Cool game, I expected a little bit more from Mario Kart so 4/5 stars for me. Online is fun, although I was a snaker its a lot more fair now.
#23
WEll I certainly got a deal as I just came back from Sainsburys with the game for only £27.97 so also bought the nintendo magazine and still saved money and time from going all the way to GAME.

Thanks a lot again. :)

Agreed m8 - as long as people save £7 compared to most other sites, what difference does it make where they get it ? Make no mistake there is a limited supply of this title in the UK, with most shops and online sites not having enough to cover preorders ... and look what happened to Mario Olympics when that ended up out of stock ... ebaying for >£50 for months on end. :p

Try Mario and Sonic Olympics m8 - that was sold out everywhere shortly after release and the UK has only recieved extra stock a few weeks ago.

I got my Mario Olympics at the Tesco price of £24 only a week or two ago. Sometimes its good to be patient....
#26
i can't believe the demand for this game. I was at game canary wharf about 30 minutes ago and there must have been a queue of about 30 people at the tills, each with a copy of Mario kart in their hands. All at £35 a pop.

Amazing how Nintendo have tapped into this market. Never have a seen a game sell like this... And it's not even a next gen console. I expect developers to be pleased about this, and I suppose this will focus their efforts to develop for the Wii.

Personally, i don't have a Wii, which is why i find the hype a little bemusing.

excellent OP, got mine.

I know I keep checking Tescos but mine never has it in for any price. I cant really decide anyway given the contradictory reviews ... What do you think to it - is it worth £24 ?

Grrr...Ordered my copy from Choicesuk a few weeks ago, with the extra steering wheel. Got an email though this morning saying there is a problem with the distributors with the Steering wheel and hopefully it will be sent out on Monday. Am gutted as I have been looking forward to playing the game and now have to wait all weekend!!!!Just my look.

Would have snapped this deal though!!! Good price

Did you buy the Japanese version then? That's the only version that's out before the UK version, must be kinda hard to understand any of the language in it.

Tell me about it m8 !!!! ChoicesUK are not my flavour of the week ATM. I ordered Heavenly Sword from them at the beginning of the week. It was stated as 'in stock' with <24 hrs despatch (and still is). Ever since then my order show 'In transit to Guernsey' (ie waiting for supply from distributors). Emailed them (brief and polite BTW) and got a snotty email back telling me to read their T&Cs.

If a video game and console can get my missus to play then it is defined as next gen in my book.

She is not particularly skilful though.

thanks, just snagged last copy in my local Sainsbury. £27.97 with 1 wheel & game

What an idiot kentc81. Do you think it's sound business sense to hold back on selling items if they are in demand? Nope - neither do Nintendo. They didn't pretend either, that they had no Wii's over the Christmas period. They made as many as they could, lol.

Some people don't engagae with a shade of common sense.

It is perfectly good business sense to have the demand greater than the supply. Notice that the Wii as been the same price ever since it came out. This is becasuse it is still in high demand and has been ever since it came out. Therefore, Nintendo can keep the price the same without lowering it in order to sell them. Look how much Microsoft and Sony have lowered their products in price.

Sainsbury in London Colney still have a few left (wheel and game). Bought one 1/2 an hour ago.
#38
went in 1 in salford sold out damnnnnnnnn

 Awesome deal, just went on sainsbury's website, found 5 local stores, called them all till I found one in stock! £27.97 YAY! Only thing i need now is another Wii Wheel as they had none in stock...

I can confirm that North Cheam (Surrey) store has ONE remaining copy with wii wheel ...

Enjoy! Heat + Rep added.

Folk who want playability get a wii

Folk who want eye candy get a PS3 / XBox 360 :w00t:
