This looks OK (don't get me wrong) but if anyone's who's willing to spend £280 is willing to put down £20 more then this might be better.

1x Premium Wii U (32GB)
1x Super Smash Bros. for Wii U
1x Mario Kart 8
1x Wii U Pro Controller
1x Mario Amiibo
1x Super Mario Bag

That Smash Wii U Amiibo box looks really nice.

@Gamer_U certainly, the 2x game bundles are probably worth more. The original package should never have been £299.99 imo so hopefully other packs will follow suit and offer better value :)

Yes. And no.

It's £280 for a Wii U Premium Console, Wii U Mario red wheel, Mario Wii U gamepad protector, Mario hat, a Mario Wii Remote Plus and a Mario Kart 8 game guide.

Plus that game you haven't played since the N64 version.

You mean like most popular games and franchises today? ;)

I know.. its just a few months back you could get a new wii for £99, albeit the basic one, just hard to see the deal here where the price is rather close to the other consoles.

I'm a big Nintendo fan, but even I can't get excited about all the hats and bags and badges and stuff. I know it's collectable and I know that it will be worth some serious cash if you keep it in it's box and never breath near it (a bit like Nigel Tufnel's guitar in Spinal Tap) but in my book stuff should be played with, and often.

It's not the Wii, it's the Wii U. Kinda hard to miss that with the big blue U.

And as for Smash being the same since the 64...

Almost an entirely different game yet it holds on to its origins because it's where it all began and fans love to play the original 64 stages in HD. As such is the Donkey Kong 64 stage:

The best yet is that there's so much to unlock and all of it is worth acquiring especially the music (437 in total).

Man, Typical Nintendo, Black Monday(Cyber Monday) over, let's try promote something overpriced after people most probably invested in the heavily advertised & discounted other 2 consoles! (ps annoyed GC & wii owner) If this was Apprentice someone would need to explain these failures in the Boardroom. Strategy for Failure of Epic Proportions!

Didn't realise IQs were so low on nintendo threads. Thought it would be obvious I'm meaning the wii U within a wii u thread. Anyway, point stands that mario kart and some crap bag isn't worth £150 more than a premium console on its own.

I thought the £99 Wii U basic was just a pricing error by GAME? Nobody actually got to buy it new at £99 I think.

Premium console with Mario Kart 8 is at least £220. A Wii Remote Plus is around £40. That's already £260 before you add the other stuff.

By your calculations, you indicate that the premium console on its own is worth £130. That's a terrible calculation.

Granted, this may not be deal of the century stuff but it's not that bad.

I've suddenly started wanting a Wii U, but don't these bundles seem kind of pricey when compared to the PS4 and Xbox One deals around lately?
It's £279 for a Wii U, a game and some junk.
It's the best price so I've voted hot, but still seems overpriced compared to the other consoles.
It completely depends on how much the extras are worth to you so it's a bit subjective. One man's junk is another's treasure and all that.

I do think that Gamer_U's link to the MK8 & Smash Bros bundle is probably better value than this though. Not something I'd be interested in myself though as I don't see myself using the bag.

Been looking into it further and only just realised a Wii Remote isn't included as standard usually, so that's obviously a bonus if you needed one.

Game are selling a Wii U Basic with New Super Mario Bros for £160, which seems better value for me really.

Grab it then - space isn't an issue because it's easily upgradeable. You won't actually need one for awhile if all your purchases are on-disc.

Looks like they've got some Luigi hats back in stock and are offering the Luigi bundle again: http://s3.thcdn.com/productimg/0/600/600/03/10947203-1409241577-210123.jpg
