Take to the pitch in Mario Strikers: Charged, this rocket fuelled football frenzy, the follow-up title to Super Mario Strikers, arrives with a new roster of features, only for Wii.

Players form an original team by combining one of 12 captains with three of eight sidekicks before competing in one of the game`s many modes. Anything goes in Mario Strikers: Charged, as players are allowed to use a variety of special abilities to clinch important goals.

Each captain has his or her own set of skills and super abilities, as well as the ability to perform special shots called Mega Strikes, where the iron ball splits into five balls and flies at the goal. The defending player must use the Wii Remote to target and aim at and shoot these balls out of the air before conceding a goal. In this game, players also can charge energy to the metal ball, making it more likely to find its target when fired at goal.

Each of the stadiums in Mario Strikers: Charged has various characteristics and contraptions, which influence game play. Players must learn to use this to their advantage to truly dominate the pitch.

Mario Strikers: Charged not only features an action-packed multiplayer mode, but also supports the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service, which allows players to take part in tournaments with others.

The price isn't too bad - but the game isn't very good eaither. Neither hot nor cold from me.

It was enjoyable enough for a while. The single player mode is a bit frustrating though, if you lose one match you have to go all the way back to the start of whichever cup you are doing and they get HARD.

Picked it up from Games Connection in West Drayton for £12.99 but worked out £10 under the 2 for £20 offer. Not bad price for a ok game.
