The console dashboard, or one of the MANY times Nintendo prompt you to buy it in game, all the new characters are in the select screen, but if you click on ones you don't have, it takes you to the eShop to buy the DLC, also , if you buy both packs together you get 8 different coloured Yoshi' and Shy Guys to choose from :)

No worries, it's a great little console although I don't spend enough time with it, been too busy going through GTA V again on the Xbox One, should get round to finishing Mario 3D World and Bayonetta :)

One of the finest racing games, indeed one of the finest games ever made! Haven't convinced myself to get the DLC yet, mainly because I never buy DLC for more than a couple of quid, and also because I fear it will drag me back to playing MK8 ALL the time when there are too many other unplayed games!

Heat added, easily worth this price.

You can buy this from rakuten for £36 with £9 cashback atm. Cold from me I'm afraid.

Any more info on this and how it works?

It is the ONLY DLC I have ever bought, you get 8 new tracks and 3 extra characters per pack, that is easiy worth £7 a piece, but buying together makes them £4.50 per pack.

I just got this from Rakuten this morning for the £36 odd minus £5.31 that I had racked up in points. I was feeling pleased with myself until I read your post. I'd tried the various money off codes that have been posted for rakuten previously but none worked. If you can let me (all of us) know of a working £9 off code I will return today's purchase and re-buy for £27.

What I can see is you get 25% of the costs back up to 25 pound as points for you to spend on another item at rakuten. Good deal if you buying a number of things I suppose.

I thought it was £11 for both packs (including characters and tracks)? That's quite a lot for me. Yes the tracks look to be great but I just think that money could be better spent. I don't see that price dropping any time soon either, if ever! Nintendo are only just cottoning onto the idea of proper sales/discounts/robust digital distribution.

I remember getting this game + redeeming a free game with the promo at the time, for £30. What a bargain it looks now. Mario Kart 8 has hardly went below £35 since. Voted hot

How these points are sent or given to you to allow you to do this , I do not know. Just what i read on their site.

25% cashback until Sunday - up to £25 total cashback (£100 spent). You'll get it as credit within 72 hours. Been pretty handy for me as it's let me pick up a game then get £8-9 off another and repeat.

I bought a stack of copies (5 I think) for £30 each, kept the coupons, redeemed on new accounts to get the download codes and sold the games to CEX for £34 a piece.

Now I have MK8, NSMBU, MH3U, W101, Pikmin 3 and Sonic Lost World for £30 - (4 x £4) = £14. :p

... I hope I got that maths right. :{

Yeah I got Windwaker HD, Monster Hunter 3, W101 & Pikmin 3 using the same method but couldn't be bothered with Sonic and already had NSMBU - that's the point I needed to think about getting an external drive to upgrade my 8gb basic Wii U! Btw how were you getting £34 at CEX - was that store credit rather than cash? ? I don't think I've ever actually bought anything from CEX so credit is useless to me - just went with the £29 cash per copy they were giving.

The DLC is amazing.

For £11 you get six additional characters including Link. You get 9 new Yoshi and Shy Guy colours. You get 16 new tracks. You get new vehicles including a motorcycle for Link that looks like Epona and has Hylian shields om the sides.

Seeing as how this will be the only Mario Kart for Wii U you may as well buy it as it's cheap and adds a tonne of new content.

You'll get your £9 worth of points within 72 hours automatically. I also used 500 points i had on my account and was pleased to see i got cashback for the full £36. You should get an email telling you when you receive your points.

Mario Kart 8 has come to this point? Wow.. I bought a new copy a week after it came out for around this price and it's rather surprising that people are willing to purchase a used copy for £30.

Then again, there might not be much choice for a lower price, I dunno I've not checked any websites.

Well I hope the people who have ordered got theres, but mine got mysteriously got returned and refunded. Had a right go at amazon this morning, with the wii u bundle problems and a couple of other mess ups by them i have really lost faith in them this time.
