This stick is fake, with it being mark2 I can say that it will die quite quickly using it to make camera clips. I have heard of there being cases where these fake sticks have burnt up peoples devices!! Why waste £52 on this chinese ripoff junk when you can buy quality genuine memory, the price might not be the same or double in some cases but the quality and warranty surely warrants the price.

Have a look at the genuine pro duo and mark2 range over at Play.com:

Arggghhhhh....how many more goddamn times am I going to post on these damn things, DealExtreme are RENOWNED for fake memory cards.

Once again to the MODERATORS PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE REMOVE DealExtreme from HotUKdeals....chinese cheap knock off goods, may be cheap but unreliable and a waste of money, and lets face it pirated goods fund crime.

Ice cold...fake memory cards....unreliable construction.......questionnable file allocation table sizing.......no warranty......would you want to trust your data on one? No matter how "tempting a price"

And it ignores VAT & handling charges that might well amount to £20+ when it is landed in the UK.

I agree about not posting cheap memory sticks from DealExtreme but they are good for things like screen protectors which you can get for £1 or £2 which are just as good if not bett thean the one that some places try to charge you a £10+ for so there is no reason to remove DX completely

No matter what your order total is DX will always put $35HKD on the custom claims thing. Not very honest of them I know but it saves you money I suppose :)

easy tiger, no where does it say it's a genuine card in fact they've removed Sony from the card.

Yes, but the thing is with DealExtreme is yes you can get stuff like screen protectors and the like, but it seems like any cheap tat fake or otherwise is posted on here, most are not really bargains, cheap tat.

You can get screen protectors from DealExtreme or Ebay, the same as you can get Fake Headphones, Fake memory cards, Fake "OEM" faceplates, you name it. Just look at any seller from Hong Kongs feedback on Ebay...why should "cheap" deals on here get heat from a none reputable source?

LOL...fair enough then, knock yourself out with your bargain £51 for a dud card, be my guest  Just because they have removed Sony or Sandisk doesn't imply that they are any better other than not being as "dishonest", just means they are the same **** as manufactured when they badged them as Sony or Sandisk, the only advantage being that the user isn't as easily "conned"..but there again you pay your money you make your choice.

Thankfully judging by the cold votes "this" and other "uneasy tigers" steer clear.

I wasn't advising anyone to do such a thing, just pointing out they no longer pretend to be real and give you the option of risking it. Noticed a lot of stuff now is sold without the company names on like Nokia batteries from ebay.

Bought one recently lasted 8hours compared to the nokia's 24hrs

So you personally advocate that DealExtreme "deals" still be posted on here then? As a user that a couple of years ago bought a so called Sony 2GB Memory Stick Duo from Fleabay from a Hong Kong seller only to find that the plastic casing soon came off the card and even the adaptor to use in a card reader broke...along with questionnable File Allocation Table reliability...I would sooner these deals "Fake branded" or not, be posted on here. I prefer to see HUKDers spend their money on proper bargains personally and like to warn of such sh*t. Hence why I prefer that DealExtreme deals be removed from here.

Wow another HUKD thread promoting counterfeit cards from DealExtreme. Why do the mods always turn a blind eye to these and never remove them??. I'm not going to waste my breath trying to convince people this not a genuine PRO Duo. Fake is fake whether it has the brand name printed on it or not. It's still breaking copyright laws. Buy this if you're a cheap ass who likes losing valuable data .

No don't advocate them being on here, but i didn't know about deal extreme before I started using this site and I think people should be made aware they can buy cheaper tat from deal extreme than from ebay. Oh and they do smashing deals on LED torches and silicone cases for phones

Fair point, I guess there should just be a point made in Misc stating that DealExtreme sell some cheap stuff that is comparable in quality to the sort of stuff you get in Poundland and can be quite useful to save a few pence from purchasing from Ebay...but also a warning that like on Ebay they sell fake sh*t too and just be careful.

I don't condone the selling of counterfeit goods but it's not counterfeit if not pretending to be another brand. That's like saying this is a counterfeit as it's not made by Sony.

Seeing that Sony ONLY license their trademarked Memory Stick Duo card to be manufactured and developed in collaboration with Sandisk then you are wrong :whistling:

Hence why you only see fake Memory Stick & M2 cards with Sony or Sandisk branding on them, or without, whichever, they are **** fake knockoffs with dubious reliability, no guarantees and poor build quality....

Any more of these "deals" that come along I think I am just going to cut and paste the info, its becoming dull educating the uneducated. Still want to argue the fact that these are not "counterfeit"? In order to manufacture they would have to have approval from Sony, don't believe me then just phone up Sony, I am sure they would be interested in the fake **** DealExtreme are selling, even without the "Sony" or "Sandisk" stamp.

Usually when these cards get posted up around here I try my best to prove/explain why they ARE counterfeit. This time I'm not going to waste my time. PRO Duo cards are a Sony owned and licensed proprietary memory format, what more can be said.
