Beginning to wish I hadn't delayed upgrading the ram on my rig:(
Seriously the price of RAM is now becoming beyond silly. I remember picking up 16gb DDR3 Ram at the same speeds as this one for £54 just last year and a pair of 4gb Crucial Ballistix from eBuyer for just £24!

If someone is building a HTPC, go with an AMD A10 processor which comes with pretty decent integrated graphics which can even play modern games on medium/high-ish settings at decent FPS. If you're concerned about power usage, go with the i3-3225 which comes with HD 4000 integrated graphics.

Not quite true. Idle power consumption of trinity is better than the Intel i3's.

Are you going to ever use your machine, or let it sit idle most of the time? If you want it ready in a few seconds, put it on standby, but during typical use, the i3 will use less power.
I have a HD 5450 1GB fanless, works a treat with Netflix in high quality setting. Only uses 21w if im right. Got it for about £25 a year ago.

BTW its low profile

if you're setting up a proper HTPC, you use Linux.
Oh come on.

I am a massive linux evangelist but I'd never say anything this fanboyish, linux may have been elevated to the status of 'decent HTPC platform' but that is directly thanks to immense community efforts like XBMC. Linux owes its media popularity to XBMC, not the other way around; XBMC on Windows is not somehow worse than XBMC on linux, and allows the use of Hot Deals like this one to fit a solid graphics card at a good price, while retaining the ability to soft-control the fan speeds without relying on the utterly crap lmsensors linux package.

Windows 7 is a perfectly acceptable HTPC OS as long as you reign in the CPU usage when idle, there is nothing inherent about linux that makes it 'better' for HTPC use other than it being more secure when switched on all the time. That being said, I run the Windows Server 2012 Datacentre OS on my 24/7 media server, so meh.

The 7750 can be found in single slot low profile. And if you're in to gaming, is the one I would go for. Under £90 too which is a bargain imo

Used to have a media pc with a saphire 4670, fan on that was too noisy, the 5770 that replaced it was quieter.
