nicster08 posted this deal recently and it is a good deal. But at the moment you can add extra wine and get 25% off all the wine, including those bottles you have included in the wine deal. I bought 6 deals for £51 this morning saving a total of £66. The wine deal is supposed to be on til Monday but the SA thought it might be going off earlier so get in early if you plan to do this. Also the Chickens are Oakham, not the normal rotisserie ones, but they come in different sizes and this morning they had some classed as medium serving 4, not just the 2-3 ones.
You need to buy 6 bottles to qualify for the extra 25% off.

Perhaps you could clarify how the deal works

If I purchase the dine in deal plus an additional bottle of wine does it reduce the price of both bottles of the wine by 25% ?

Or does it also reduce the price of the dine in deal to £8.50 , is that the 6 deals for £51 pounds you refer to ?
#2
You need to buy 6 bottles to qualify for the 25% off. So you can buy 2 deals for £20 and if you buy 4 more bottles you get 25% off all of the wine.
If the wine is £6.99 you get 6 X £1.75 off the total which is I think £10.50. So you get 6 bottles of £6.99 wine and 2 3 course meals for £37.50
If the wine is £4.99 I think it comes to £31 for the 2 deals and 4 extra bottles, ie you are getting 4 extra bottles for £11.
I got 6 deals with the £6.99 wine and I can freeze a lot of the food.

Makes perfect sense , thanks for filling me in

I haven't tried this myself yet, but I think there might be another way of exploiting this glitch by taking advantage of the fact that bottles of beer are also included in the 25% off offer.

So, if you buy 2 £10 meal deals and get £6.99 bottles of wine, you could then add 4 bottles of beer to qualify for the 25% off. The bottles of beer are on a 4 for the price of 3 offer and start at £1.49 for Winterfest Beer and Czech Lager. Presuming you got 4 of these bottles at £1.49, the total cost of the beer and wine would be £18.45, which would then translate into a 25% discount of £4.61.

Given that the total cost of the two meal deals would be £24.47, this discount would then mean a final bill of £19.86.

I like the sound of getting paid to drink beer

Hopefully someone can confirm that this works

I'm not sure, but I think it might be necessary to disregard the free bottle of beer in terms of reaching the required 6 bottles for the 25% discount to kick in. This, 3 meals and 4 bottles of beer might in fact be the best way to make this deal work. The total would be £34.47 and if you bought £6.99 bottles of wine with each deal, the discount would be £6.49, leaving £27.98 to pay.

you did save a total of £66 quid, but your ACTUAL saving was £9

1 meal deal, with £6.99 wine = £10

so 6 deals is £60, but you got for £51

and if 6 bottles = 25% discount then

£6.99 x 6 = £41.94 so discount is £10.48 (or 49 depending which way you round)

so £60 - £10.48 = £49.52

M&S owe you £1.48 :whistling:

Yes, you are right. I didn't check my receipt or work the discount out thoroughly - it just looked about right. I haven't got the receipt now as I threw it out with the recycling. :x
I should have learnt by now to check receipts, supermarkets are always making mistakes.

Nope. Two deals plus 4 bottles of Winterfest (on 4 for 3 offer) triggered the 25%.

Limited range at my "local" store in South Devon: no MedVeg, no PannaCotta, etc (no shelf-edge labels for them either) - but medium chickens of a decent size. No Fitou and the Sicilian Shiraz I got was priced at 4.99 by the till.

Net total for 2 deals plus 4 500ml bottles of beer was 20.49 (gross = 37.59; free item = 1.49; wine disc = 3.98; Dine-In disc= 11.63).

The woman on the till did an absolutely classic double-take when asking me for the 20.49. Thanks very much for the clue.

I don't find the m&s £10 deal THAT great to be honest...its hardly a filling 'meal' plus when you add it all up you realise that unless they have something you really like, you're not really getting such a good deal.

It was just a fad to start with where people would be blinded by the 2 for £10 signs and the fact it was m&s food, but as soon as you take a step back you kinda think....."meh"
#13
yep i think the £10 meal deal used to a whole lot better

A bottle of wine would cost 4-5 quid anyway so to have the meal and dessert for £6 isn't bad is it.
Yes i know it is not that large but you can always add a bit of veg/garlic bread etc to pad it out, still not that expensive and is good quality grub.

These so called wine 'deals' always make me laugh.

So you can get 25% off overpriced plonk and you think it's a bargain!!

£6.99 less 25% is still £5.25 a bottle.

If that's what you want, go into Netto and get similar stuff for £2.99 - £3.99 a bottle.

Plus if you work for m&s like me i get a further 20% off everything and 45% off the wine. this is a FANTASTIC deal!!!

shows how much profit they are still making then, even after the discount on their hyper-inflated M&S Prices. I'd be starving still after sharing one of these deals.

Can't see how you can order the £10 meal deal online anyway - it says it is instore only?

of course it's great, the sides are generally filling and most of the main course are more than enough for two unless you're both fatties

We feed 3 with the meal deal. My son doesn't get to drink the wine though. :)

Exactly, M&S are just as bad as the Supermarkets when it comes to overpricing cheap wine.

LOL they're all at it selling supposedly £11.99 plonk HALF PRICE OR LESS at £4.99 a bottle.

What really amazes me is how many people are taken in by this nonsense.

The Lime and corridander chicken thing was part of the three for 310 section last week - assume that its not now ????

Im not so sure - I travel abroad quite a lot and whenever I do, im amazed at the high price of decent wine in the shops there. I think we do have some of the cheapest prices anywhere

Yes it is available on the offer!

I have worked for the M&S wine procurementin the past and can assure you that it is far from cheap plonk. The wines are generally exclusive varieties grown by small to medium producers and are a far cry from the J P Chenets of the world. If you really think they taste something from Netto then you're probably better off shopping in Netto.

£10 is a reasonable deal for a meal for two where the food is far superior to any of the other imitations. The products are generally unique and reasonably sourced. The problem with M&S is they don't shout loud enough about the features of their products. ie All their food contains only free range eggs, their Kids sweets are all naturally flavoured and coloured and their choc is ALL fairtrade.
Give me Marc Bollands job!!

I've just been to Simply Food in Plymouth and couldn't see signs showing that beer is included in the 25% offer so just got 4 x Premium Bucks Fizz (also have Kir Royale, Peach Bellini, etc etc) which are 3.99 each but on offer at 2 for £6. So i got 2 x meal deals (with 6.49 wine) and 4 x bubbly. They gave me 3.96 discount for '2 for £6' bubbly, 15.42 discount for meal deal and 7.24 discount for wine save 25% offer. Cost 23.74. Bargain!

There are no signs that say beer is included hence why it is classed as a glitch. I have just bought 2 dine in deals and 4 bottles of the Czech lager for £20.49.

Heat added and rep to OP, JonBoy and ClashinDevon!

Thanks all!

Why don't they advertise that bottles of beer are included in the 'buy 6 get 25% off' promotion then?

Sounds like an error to me or just something that they want to hide?

Don't be so stupid, there's no such thing as Netto wine.

Netto only sell branded makes of wines, the same as ASDA , Morrisons, Tesco and Sainsbury but they dont make ridiculous claims that it's half price, down from £11.99 a bottle etc..
They sell it at the price it's actually worth.

Personally, i wouldn't drink any of it as it's all basically plonk anyway.

I never knew in my wildest dream 2 could dine in the house for £10. Thank you so much.........

IT IS A GLITCH... promotion is 25% of 6 bottles of wine as you have a job I would expect you to know BEER IS NOT WINE

I bought 6 tins of gin and tonic and got 25% discount as well
