We've moved this to Misc as I cannot find any evidence of this
How do you know this?
Do you have a link to this offer?
If you do can you send a report then we can move this back to deals; but we do posts stuff like this in Misc if it's a heads up that isn't confirmed
Sounds lovely, thanks for the info, have some rep
dont like the sound of any of the starters or mains!
I prefer the £10 dine in ones........ but REP you for letting us know about this offer !!......
Extra £10 for a rose and starter, sounds like a poor deal to me
I swear this was £15 last year for the same thing?

Yes it was! Mothers Day was £20 and that was based on serving 4 people though without the rose! :whistling:
Tempting copout
Could Dine out for this price
Think this should be the same price as last year in my opinion. Will pass this year me thinks.

Apparently some of the supermarkets are doing similar ideas but cheaper ovbiously.
This now confirmed on MSE. Should be moved to deals.
I remember it being £15 last year too. However I still think £20 is good value for money for what you get. Absolutely gorgeous food. Have some heat & Rep
Personally I think £20 is a bit steep when compared to the similar deal for £15 last year which also included rose/starter, how can they justify charging an extra fiver for the same thing a year later? I am disappointed if this is the case, as I am a big fan of M&S who shops there quite a bit . Also I have noticed some of the food items are not of the same quality for example the Chicken and Veg soup has been changed- there used to be big chunks of chicken in it and when I bought one last week these had been replaced by a different constitution of a few very small pieces of chicken. What is happening to M&S if they carry on like this they will start losing customers and their reputation for quality food.
Okay rant over now hehe ;-)

where? McDonalds? :whistling:
I recently had a meal out for two (similar course structure but no rose) and it was over £ I think you could say that this is still good value although not quite as good value as last interesting to see what the competition does.

You forgot Weatherspoons!

I was really hoping theyd do a valentines offer but its not really to my taste :( bit disappointing choice really
Looks a good menu for £20 to me; especially if you pick the items that are normally quite pricey.
Love the dine in deal, but £20 i think is definitely overpriced.

Waitross have one for £15 with 2 side dishes, dessert, main and wine/chocolate

what are you after? fish fingers with a side of beans?
Would rather spend a bit extra and eat out...
I'm taking my girlfriend to my Gran's...
Save on the cooking and washing up!

Agreed, looks good on the advert though :-D, they always film it so well, makes me wanna Lick the screen.:?
Cold, the normal £10 meal for 2 is a good deal. This is an extra tenner for the starter and rose.
NOTE: You can get a selection of Chocs instead of the single rose.

I think it was £20 last year as well and the Mother's Day one was £15 which included larger sides/puddings and roasting joints as mains (I got 2 of these).

Think a lot of people will still go for this. There is a similar £15 deal at Tesco without the starter and with a small bag of chocs from Thorntons. But for £5 more the Marks deal is better quality and you get more.

As long as Marks do 20 odd "normal" £10 dine and wines a year, I can accept the odd £20 and odd £15 one.
I've just seen the advert on the Tv, and it is £15..... or is that waitrose?? Same voice!
This is quite pricey considering Morrisons are doing similar deal of their best range for £8 ok may not be as good as M&S but to be honest I bought a meal from M&S for dinner last night and binned it, it was awful. You've still to cook it, make a mess of your kitchen and then clean it all up. Takeaway would be easier and probably tastier, also more fattening but I'm slim so I don't care!
Good deal for me considering I had a £10 M&S voucher and £3 on a gift card so ended up costing me £7, not that I'm a cheapskate or anything lol!
Hmmmm Nice

Times like this, I'm grateful for the employee discount!
I was really hoping theyd do a valentines offer but its not really to my taste :( bit disappointing choice really

" Disappointing choice " ??????

7 starters
9 Main courses
6 Side dishes
7 sweets
11 wines......

FFS...................:whistling: I've been to ( decent ) restaurants with less choice on the menu.................

And Yes...this was £20 last year there is NO increase in costs for those moaning minnies who've been bleating about going up £5 when it hasn't.....
Cold, the normal £10 meal for 2 is a good deal. This is an extra tenner for the starter and rose.

No it isn't, the other items are more expensive than normal. For example some of the wines are normally £10.99 by themselves.

Your wife must be thrilled to have married such a generous soul...

" It's Valentine's day, love, if I can find somewhere with 4 courses of good quality food, a decent bottle of wine to enjoy, and a rose for you, we're going out , but only if it's under a tenner each" ..................................... :whistling::oops:
There are options on there which are far better than the standard dine in for £10. More expensive mains and/or wine.

Also if you try and buy a "single" rose they are quite expensive - although to my mind the chocolates are a better option.
I have just been and picked up the ribeye steaks, scallops with red pepper, melting choc puds and the chips, etc.
I think it's pretty good value, as the steaks are quite a nice size (plus, I get to eat half of the wife's steak)

M & S wine is the worst at any price point (tried a few whites, reds, roses and champagnes)

I was unfortunate to be gifted a bottle of m & s white wine last christmas :-(
They are including more expensive dishes and wines than you usually get in the meal deal.
I got a Sancerre (priced at £11.99), and chose the chocs rather than the rose. Total bill came to £36 before it was reduced to £20 at the till. I think that's a good deal. If you chose the most expensive options, you can get the bill before discount up to nearly £40, which gives you the food and wine for nearly half price.

Agree some items, like the chocs, might be a bit overpriced to begin with, but I still got starter, main dish, side dish, desert and chocs all for just £8.01 more than the bottle of wine would have cost on its own.

I've noticed with these deals that some items go out of stock in the special offer display cabinets very quickly . it's always worth checking the normal displays and cabinets for items that seem to be "out of stock". I found my first choice wine, dessert and starter still available in the usual places for each, even though there was none available in the special offer displays.

I've found that in the past for their £10 meals as well. Even if it's not marked Dine in for £10 on the packaging, you will still get the discount if it's listed in the menu online, or on one of the price labels on the special offer display cabinet.
No point in just going for the more expensive items if you prefer the less expensive items. Good varied menu although I do find the orignal price of the stuff to be a tad overpriced so I would not get too excited about how much has been saved.
