Six friends discover the difficulties of living with, and without, the one you love. When does compromise become sacrifice, and when do they both become divorce? Sexy, funny and painfully honest, this drama tells the story of three couples who are trying to work out exactly what a 'couple' is these days. Through love, passion, heartbreak and tragedy Lillie, Eddie, Clint, Abbey, Babs and Dickie contemplate the meaning of 'happily ever after' and ponder the conundrum of always wanting what you just can’t have.
If you remember Thirtysomething then this is a shorter, sharper, less slushygushy modern British equivalent. In short a drama about the day-to-day lives of a small group of friends, dealing with the pain and pleasure of childhood, adolescence, parenthood and the highs and lows of day-to-day relationship. Very well written, directed, lit, shot, acted, in places brilliantly, poignant, funny, sad, moving. What more do you want from a TV drama?
