I did this a few times last year, works a treat. I booked 2 nights and when I checked out got a £100 voucher for my next two nights. Preston Marriott is relatively inexpensive, say £140 for 2 nights including breakfast. Once you've had the pain of that once you end up only paying the £40 for your next 2 nights! And you can do it as many times as you like.

Thats excellent, we use our Tesco clubcard vouchers to have a few nights away per year and really like the hotels, Grantham was cheap last year, complete with pool, sauna etc.
I'm sure I can't use them to get this deal as it is in association with Visa.

Very good deal - although as WalterSmith indicates - this deal seems to be present more often than not (hence not truly for a 'limited time')...well at least in the last 2 years.

Does anyone know if VISA electron counts?

I tried to do this over the weekend and the hotel was having none of it. Apparently I cannot redeem a coupon for a stay and receive another upon check out. Nothing of the sort is mentioned in the terms and conditions.

pretty sure that it won't. VISA is a credit card whereas VISA electron is a debit card so very different animals with a not dissimilar name.

Did it at the weekend and i don't even think they checked to make sure i paid by VISA, i used the express checkout and then went back because i'd forgotten about the voucher and they just handed one straight over to me

This seems like a cracking deal...

So if you stay at a Marriott in the UK (rates w/ breakfast, 2 nights, and preferably over a Fri/Sat night), then you get a £100 voucher.

This £100 voucher can be used anywhere in the world, but your next stay must be 2 nights in a row too, and the £100 is converted into local currency at the hotel's exchange rate.

I did a quick search... Zurich Marriott is 235 Swiss Francs per night for a room for 2. So two nights is 470CHF. Assuming exchange rate is 2.43 CHF to a pound, that gives £193.41, and only £93.41 after the discount.

£93.41 divided by 2 people divided by 2 nights is only £23.35 per person per night... in the luxurious 4-star Marriott in downtown Zurich, Switzerland...one of the most expensive cities in the world! I would be hard pressed to find a hostel in Zurich in that price range, let alone a 4-star hotel!

The downside is that I don't have a marriott voucher, and they're going on ebay for exorbitant amounts.

You only have to stay for one night to be eligible for the voucher, my room at the weekend cost me £89 for 2 people B&B and i got £100 voucher for it
