I remember them being 19p in Dales (which was a pile it high supermarket owned by Asda which our local Asda converted into for a few years changing back again) in 1992 for individual bars.

It seems a bit of a con the way individual chocolate bars have gone up well above the rate of inflation in recent years. It was only say four years ago they cost roughly 35p - 40p yet these day they're something like 65p - 70p each.

My work signed a contract with a new vending machine company a short while back and the new company sent a couple of their reps down for a Q&A session in our canteen one day.I asked one of them why the sudden rise in the price of chocolate bars? He blamed it on the the supposed increase in the price of cocoa powder. It seemed like a reasonable excuse at first but the more I thought about it the more I thought why has the price of the likes of Fruit Pastilles and Skittles gone up too, they don't contain cocoa powder, and how come they can still manage to sell Mars bars for 25p in a deal like this?

There's something fishy going on somewhere!

Curly Wurly for 3d (four for a shilling)

I'm sorry but the world has gone fracking mental when someone is trying to sell me two bags of Kettle Crisps for £3.00 and tell me they're doing me a favour as they normally sell the crisps for £1.75 per 150g bag (have a look at Tesco 'offers'). Seriously I realise this is a prime case of 'old frack rant' but it's only a bag of crisps, now if it was cocaine embedded crisps I could understand but seriously you'd have to be some kind of prime time to**er to really believe that the price for a bag of crisps should be £1.75 for a 150g bag.

Rant mode off!!!

I remember them being 62,5g back in the late 80s and kosting 4,25 danish kroner. Now they are 45g and cost 10 danish kroner. Evil to the core... the planet core. You can also get them in 2-packs.... sure but these are 2x35g. They are turning into Milky Ways
