last night I actually had a dream about skittles! Havant had them in ages. I think its some sort of sign! Either that or skittles have developed a way to advertise while you sleep. Anyway im off to tesco :)

These are supposed to be great for making flavoured vodka.

I just got some, they are marked at £1.40 but scan at 50p

1 ltr vodka (glass bottle)
6 normal bags skittles (green ones removed)

Remove approx 1/3 of vodka from bottle,
add 6 bags skittles (excluding the green ones)
top up bottle with vodka earlier removed
leave in a kitchen cupboard
every 2/3 hours invert bottle which enures mixture is fully mixed

make this the night before a party, on the night if youve' turned the bottle over at regular intervals,
the mixture will be of a similar consitency to a thick medicine or syrup, like calpol,
if you removed the green ones, it will be a nice pink colour

can be drunk stright in shot glasses, or a spot of lemonade for an instant sugar/alchohol hit

drink in very small quantities please :w00t:

to save wasting the ltr of vodka if you don't like it or it doesn't turn out, half the skittles and use with 1/2 bottle vodka

Just because they are fruit flavoured they do not count towards your 5 a day
#9
one a day would be nice!
#10
well, actually if Vodka is brewed from potato extract - would that count too???? COOL!
#11
i use to love these until i found out one of the ingredients is crushed Beatle juice.

Potatoes don't count towards your five-a-day because there's nothing of nutritional value in them.

I've made loads of this stuff, and doing it this way leaves quite a lot of frothy scum on the top. i found the only way to get round this was to pour the mixture into a large bowl, let it settle then syphon it out from the bottom using a large bendy straw or bendy tubing (got me some from b&q). I never bother taking the green ones out, tried making a citrus bottle with green yellow and orange, and a berry one with red and purple but thought it was better with a mixture of them all in it.

It goes down waaaay too easy though!! I'd also recommend mixing with indian tonic water rather than lemonade as it gets almost too sugary when with lemonade. Or drink it straight.

When told about this years ago, I was told leaving the green ones in makes it go a yucky colour ?

You use the same amount as skittles ?(6 bags)?

ha here's my recipe, I think it should not be syrupy at all, otherwise it leaves a nasty film on your teeth.

70cl vodka
1 pack large skittles - take out the green and purple
1 funnel
1 empty bottle
some cheap coffee filter papers

put skittles in vodka
leave for about 24 hours, give the bottle a shake every now and then

once skittles completely disolved, filter into another empty bottle, put coffee filter in funnel and pour in vodka up to top, once that has gone down remove filter, add a new one and repeat.

once all done put the skittles vodka in the freezer for a few days, then do the filtering again. while it is in the freezer the nasty gunk will separate, you want to make sure you don't get this gunk in to your vodka as you filter it again.

all done, put vodka in freezer, and keep a shot glass chilled in the fridge. when ready to drink use the chilled glass, and vodka straight out the freezer - tastes awesome.

I used the lot, made it go a sort of pink colour. 2 large bags in a litre of vodka (slightly less than a litre time you've taken some out to make way for the skittles. i also ate a few when pouring them in)
