Don't care about football in the slightest. Mars could wrap them in newspaper and sell them for this price and it'd still be a cracking deal!

Thanks OP. :)
#2
aint gonna sell a lot up here in scotland
#3
theres a reason they are this price, they are just ****, just a mouthfull of fat and sugar with no meaningfull flavour or ingredients at all, but enjoy them all the same if you like them.

Did you notice how what a fatty and lardyass John Barnes has become, who is advertising these on TV ? Must have ate too many free promotions.

I complained and got a reply ....LOL

Dear X,

Thank you for contacting us regarding our Mars Bar.

Our sponsorship links and campaigns are designed to appeal to a wide range of people and it is not our intention to upset or offend anyone. Where possible we are working with all of our retail partners in order to help manage their supply chains and ensure that our Mars bars with the England crest are sold in English stores only. In doing this, we are attempting to make sure that stores in Scotland, Wales & Ireland have product without the England crest.

We do appreciate your feelings and apologise that we are not able to fully control this as strictly as we would like. However, as I am sure you can appreciate, despite our best efforts it is impossible for us to ensure that this is the case 100% of the time.

Once again, thank you for contacting Mars.

Yours sincerely

A friend of mine runs a newsagents in Scotland and he got a delivery of Mars bars. When he opened the boxes and saw the new labels he simply closed them again and sent them back. Need I say more. :whistling:

If Scotland were in the world cup and I could get 5 Mars Bars with the blue bit of the Union Jack on them for £1, I'd be well happy. (Certainly wouldn't be queing up to pay 44p for a traditional black one instead)

No pleasing some people, especially (from experience) those north of the border

I don't think that they'd even deep fry those Mars bars up here!

You've got to hold and give
But do it at the right time
You can be slow or fast
But you must get to the line
They'll always hit you and hurt you
Defend and attack
There's only one way to beat them
Get round the back
Catch me if you can
Cos' I'm the England man
And what you're looking at
Is the master plan
We ain't no hooligans
This ain't a football song
Three lions on our Mars
I know we can't go wrong

Have to laugh at the xenophobic attitude of a lot of Scottish people. Granted there are some good ones but a lot of you really hate us English with a passion don't you!? Myself and most other English people I know couldn't care less if our Mars bars had a thistle, dragon or shamrock on them. Hell I even support the other home nations teams.

Maybe it's some kind of minority complex?

It's a football thing. Most fans of other nations I've met following Scotland dislike / hate England fans and the commentators. It's the whole '1966' 'we're going to win the world cup' attitude which is tiresome to be honest. Face it, you're in for an epic fail at the WC. Even Capello has started his excuses.

Good price on the Mars Bars by the way.

It absolutely is.

I post on a Scottish Football forum and someone was complaining about the Soccer Aid phone number ending 1966.

I live in Scotland and if it were just a football thing them I could see your point at times (caused by the press, not England fans), but it isn't, and no one can explain why; and then of course it's just banter! :whistling:

There is nothing childish being passionate about a sport, but being bitter and posting stupid comments about a wrapper offending people... THATS CHILDISH!

Fair do ;-) Us Scots have no problem with such banter. Unfortuneately the general paranoid, self-indulgent attitude of SOME English fans turns this banter into a war- Shame
#37
I wonder if the Welsh get bothered by it? Do they even sell these special editions in Wales? lol

I dont really like the packaging either but its not that bad. Its not the fact its a St Georges Cross or its England i mean seriously your entitled to support your own country, its the fact they dont give a hell if it offends anyone or if they loose sales because of it.

I dont really like Mars Bars anyway they are kinda heavy like if you eat to much cake or something but good deal anyway, for the price of course:thumbsup:

LOL this is just a joke btw, surprised anyone hasn't posted it.

You think they do it for a laugh or something? Newsflash: - they've changed the wrapper to increase sales. These are mainly sold in England with only a few accidentally making it over the border. I somehow think they will gain more customers than they lose.

WAIT FOR IT!!!!

£1 EACH

OR

2 PACKS FOR £2.50
