Martin Dawes was selling Sony Tv for £314.00 with 10% and had 5 year warranty on the description. I ordered the tv and after a few days it was out of stock and they can't accept any more orders. I checked again it doesn't say 5 year warranty on the description anymore I spoke to a advisor to and told them does this tv come with 5 year warranty. They said it comes only with 12 months warranty and that's it. Now only ordered the tv because it came with 5 year warranty or could've bought it from John Lewis £349.00. They have changed the wording what shall I do is there any way I can get them to give me 5 year warranty I forget to take screenshot so I have no proof, please help me thanks

Just return it

But that's the cheapest price out there and I have to buy another one if I do return it, I don't want that hassle. Is there any other options.

What a little gem, I told them I wanted it at the £2299.99 and they sent me a discount code for that price. Any experience with customer service from them?

Martin Dawes gave me a discount code so got it for 2345

What code is that? I tried procematching with John Lewis at £2299 but both times only got responded to after price went up. Might have to just get it from Martin dawes.

Has anyone had the refund show in their accounts yet? My order status is still showing as 'Packing'.

*Had to contact them directly yesterday afternoon to chase this up. Turns out they hadn't cancelled my order or processed the refund, so if your order is still showing as 'Packing', I'd give them a call!*

Well, give it a bit of time...

http://www.forbes.com/forbes/welcome/?toURL=http://www.forbes.com/sites/johnarcher/2016/11/21/lg-responds-to-hdr-gaming-petitions-champagne-at-the-ready/&refURL=&referrer=#52af9da64bb8

But if you're as committed to low latency gameplay as you say you are, you'd probably be best off with a 4K TN display with HDMI 2.0 input. Even the fastest UHD TV is still in 20-23ms range.

By the way, this deal is still active.

Edited By: Easy2BCheesy on Nov 22, 2016 18:54
Eh? This screen definitely supports HDR gaming and produces the best results visually for anything in the £2K bracket. You are correct in that input lag is at 60ms. It's noticeable on fighting games, competitive shooters etc, but really for most games it's absolutely fine - you just get used to it.
Before recent firmware updates, you couldn't run Samsung screens in HDR with game mode enabled and lag was at 120ms - now that's a different kettle of fish entirely. But the only real competition for this from Samsung is the KS9500 which isn't available at anything lower than 65-inches and costs a lot more than this.

Don't shoot the messenger dude. I'm just quoting what THESE GUYS are asking for.

As I play Battlefield 1, COD, Titanfall, Streetfighter as my main source of gaming, 60-70ms is far, far, far too high to even compete. If you play more relaxed games, then I guess it would be fine but as a GAMER, this is not the TV for you. I still think it's really poor though for a TV of this caliber to not support this. This is the LG flagship and it can't do, what I would perceive, as the bare essentials for a modern TV.

I couldn't 'just get used' to compromising when I've outlaid £2000 of my money. Hence why I'm waiting for all this 4k-Faux-K to calm the farm down and get at least a standard settled upon.

been watching this set since it was released at £3000 .
the price has dropped nicely and can be had 12 months intrest free dor same price at very.
i have the panasonic st60 the last plasma they made at the moment and highly rated award winning tv so anything i buy has to be better ,so oled uhd premium is the only way forward.
this set had a major update this week making the picture etc even better ,read up on it .
£1500 il bite 8)
Just be aware that at £1500, you are paying through the nose for a TV that doesn't support HDR Gaming.
I personally think that it's shocking for a TV back in August was £2999 and has dropped by 40% in less than 3 months, still doesn't do the complete job it was supposed to!
I'd be horrified if I bought it.

Very happy with mine so far. I have loads of 3D blurays (mainly courtesy of deals on here) and there's a load more 3D films on demand via Sky Q.
Watched a bit of Alien on DVD using the 2D -> 3D conversion after my Dad mentioned that he'd have loved to see that film in 3D and the set did a pretty good job of converting it.

Glad you like it. Does the Sky Q box just have 2 coax sat inputs? Or does it have more/fewer?

What was it like shopping from this shop? Easy delivery?

Sky Q has just two inputs but there are more tuners inside that are used by any other mini boxes you get for multiroom so they don't need cabling from the dish.

Shopping experience was ok. First time dealing with them and has been online only, although the dispatch notification from them came after it had been delivered.

I have a few questions to the people who have received their TVs??

Did the box come damaged like ripped and hole in the back??

Did the little see through envelope with the paper works come with the tv. It says Document enclosed my one is ripped and nothing in there, also no receipt or papers to confirm the 12 months warranty from Martin Dawes.

I can't see where the black spot so that's fine other than that it looks like decent tv quality isn't great or bad.

Please tell me what colour box it came in white or brown? Just checked the same model on you tube showing brown box with unboxing videos my one is white box can anyone confirm please.

The little black sliding thing at the back of the tv was a little hard in the beginning now I opened it, it's gone soft I can take out and in quite easily, firstly what is that and what is it for and Is it for the wifi and if I open it will it work??

Please can someone find the time to answer these questions It will make my life easy..

Will try and answer your questions:

Box was fine when it arrived
No paperwork just the email order receipt
Box was white, and the replacement set today was also white box, that came direct from Sony
The slit at the back of the tv is for a decoder card which is used in some countries, nothing to do with wifi at all

Any more questions just ask

And once I get something concrete about the 5 year warranty I will post it up on here

Thanks.

My box is white and it had a hole but tv looks new but there was no email order receipt that I was looking for where did you find that was it sticked outside the box where it said document enclosed or was it inside the box with the manuel and instructions.

I tried putting my WD passport in the HDMI slot today, played a movie it was all there but subtitles come on the screen with white writing so can't read and watch the movies, usually it's on the black border so it's a lot clear with white writing and black on the outside.

So far what do you think about the tv picture and sound quality.

Which tv is better this one or Sony KDL50W829B and what's the difference between these both,

Does anyone have a free phone number for Martin Dawes thanks

I think it won't be possible to do a price match now with price from Martin Dawes because they don't have Bose QC35 on the online shop now.

This offer is still on, but would suggest John Lewis to price match. With John Lewis you still have the 28 days guarantee during which they will refund if the price comes down further. From experience Martin Dawes is a pain and they outright rejected in my case even if it was within 14 days refund period. And customer support is awful, intimidating and argues with you ..
I bought this about 2 month ago. I payed for it a bit more than this price.

..... wall bracket does not support TV's higher than 60" :(
????
What makes you say that?,
it's the weight and vesa measurements that count (oh and how well you mounted the bkt to the wall) - the size of the TV has absolutely nothing to do with it.
That's what is says on the specs for the bracket. I'm not taking a risk with a 65" TV.

Except those measurements are guesses. "We guess that a 60 inch TV will weigh 20kg and a 70 inch one will weigh 30kg, our bracket can take 25kg if mounted properly so we'll say we don't support 70 inch TVs to save on lawyers"

They won't be correct guesses, I mean my plasma is 50" and weighs 23.3kg without the stand, that's a massive difference compared to a samsung 50" LCD at 12.8kg.

Check the weight limit of the bracket and the weight of the TV without stand, plus the vesa mount size.

Hmmm, not that great really. I have been looking at the Bose soundbars and those listed at Martin Dawes with 15% off match what other stores are selling them for already.

I agree, better can be had from amazon.de or elsewhere. Just normal prices even with 15% off.

Does anybody know of good store prices for this product? I need to buy it from John Lewis as I have a voucher and would like them to price match. Currently they are selling them for £169.99. I've been told that they will only price match a store who have it in stock. I would be using the John Lewis in Chester. Thanks in advance.
Try Thurgo in Exeter...that's where I bought mine, and there I'd £15 off further Bose products

that's a pretty good deal considering the 2000 series is still ~£450 at richer sounds. cracking set of speakers, handles ear piercing volumes with ease and clarity.

You can never have enough Sonos gear

I was having a sideswipe at the usual Sonos bashers that appear with every Sonos deal suggesting cheaper things that are nothing like Sonos. I am sure Chromecast is a good cheap way of streaming but not exactly the same thing.
I tend to find that nothing quite brings out the evangelists like Sonos and Apple discussion (and keeping to HUKD only, possibly PS4/XBOX 1/PC threads!). I have been seriously considering Sonos for the past month, mainly tempted by the deals like these that keep popping up. Having actually got to audition the system in several stores (with varying display sizes and open space too, might I add) I ended up buying a Chromecast Audio and keeping with our existing system in the lounge. Our plan was a Play:5 for the lounge and the Play:1 bundle - 1 for the kitchen and 1 for the bedroom, but on their own they are pretty underwhelming. To be fair - they are not the largest speakers in the world and for their size they do pretty well, of course sounding better as a pair. But on their own they can't provide anything like good room-filling audio if you're used to a set of speakers - and this, ultimately was why I didn't go down the Sonos route in the end. No matter what you buy, it'll never beat hi-fi and for the price you pay for a decent level of kit you can buy some seriously good hi-fi equipment.
I'm going to try some active bookshelf speakers and use another Chromecast (which now does multi-room and will only improve with firmware updates) upstairs but I'm still left pondering on other locations. I did also discover Denon's HEOS range too, which is extremely similar but sounded a little bit better to me than the Sonos stuff, which isn't surprising given Denon's history.
I think if you're someone who will appreciate the ease of setup and simplicity of use that Sonos provides, there's not a lot that can touch it at the moment (apart from maybe the HEOS, although that's still only 6 months old). It'll cost you, but if you've nothing in terms of hi-fi to begin with that's not too bitter a pill to swallow. I think they'll get some serious competition next year and it'll be interesting to see how they respond - for example, the Play:5 has a line-in that can stream whatever the source is to the rest of the Sonos network - why not provide the same on the 1 or 3?! Denon has on the HEOS - which means you're able to have an even greater choice (e.g. send music from your record deck around the home!). Healthy competition is good :)

Interesting. Might not be the best place to ask, but since you have one, can you use a Chromecast audio as an alarm clock? Trying to decide whether to get another sonos play for the bedroom after moving it downstairs over Christmas!

Will John Lewis price match this?

We bought the starter pack from JL and this deal came up few days later. We screenshot the offer and emailed JL. After an email 'conversation' the reluctantly agreed to price match and therefore refund the difference keeping the JL extended guarantee. Happy :-)
Just received an email saying they over sold on the twin pack :( so will be issued a refund. Gutted
Someone was selling a 3 bundle pack on eBay for a good price, says it is 10% below the RRP which does work out to be (item no: 231797006928)

You could try Flubit if stuck. I was offered a 2 speaker play 1 set for £269 today as I gave up waiting for sonicdirect (although they were very helpful when called). Order fulfilled by Superfi. Despatched same day.
