I didn't laugh once and I got every bit of 'wit'. Frankly it seemed more like the film was trying to cover up it's bad script-writing with humour - all the dialogue fell flat, there was no depth to any of the characters - especially with the protagonist where it was critical, he just came across as annoying and cringe-worthy like most of the cast.
I spent the latter half of the film sat there waiting for the place to be blown up so I could leave this cinema. All-in-all, 'meh' would sum up how I felt about it, but factor in the hype and undeserved ratings and it feels like the worst film I've seen yet.

Bruce Banner: It's Sainsbury's Entertainments M.O., isn't it? I mean, what is this, a company with good customer services? No, no, no. That comany's a chemical mixture that makes chaos. This isn't a hot a hot deal... it's a time-bomb.
That was my incredibly nerdy way of saying with my past experiences with Sainsbury's Entertainment customer services I'd rather spend atleast £10 more to get it from Amazon nevermind the extra 50p.

but this is a good deal for the 6 movies, most of them hold value pretty well, if not all of them. plus ive only watched the first 3 but enjoyed them, got thor and captain america to watch when i get round to it.

If you read the comics and are a bit of a geek, like myself, then you can't help but love this film. After so many painstaking decades of utter trash being released, comics are finally getting their dues in the big budget arena with a decent film. Not forgetting Xmen:First class, of course!
If you think the humour was badly-written trash then you obviously never picked up an Iron Man comic.. Robert Downey Jnr. IS Tony Stark to me with his cheesy quick-witted jokes!
There was so much in this film than what is on the surface.. I was geeking out seeing Thanos at the end, names of companies on crates.. and of course.. the amazing Stan Lee cameo!
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion.. I just can't believe that a comic book lover would hate this film. If you don't like comics, then you entered the wrong film from the start!

Avengers was the biggest slap together film of this year. Batman is head and shoulders above Avengers. Though I wish Christian Bale would go eat some lava.

I'm a comic fan and a bit of a geek myself but to be fair Marvel are lowbrow rubbish 99% of the time who make something special once in a blue moon, the movies are even worse.
TWICE?!! you must be mad. i thought seeing the once was bad enough, especially with all the expectation. The poor jokes make it almost painful.
the how it should have ended points out some of the films problems but Avengers supposedly has 45 minutes cut out of the film? will wait and see if theres a special edition down the line to give another viewing.
I know what your saying, amazon is a well known company and this "sainsburys" is just an upsatart of a company. Never heard of them!
