Damn you, I was going to post this. Cracking prices!

FYI I noticed they had Resonance of Fate for the 360 at the same price (also they were all £10.97 not £10.54 in Derby).

Thats not correct mate,
you'll need to prove you work for a bank, a law firm etc. I work for a bank and took my payslips. You won't get a look it if you don't qualify.

I don't understand this rule. I can understand public services, but why do they discriminate toward high earning professionals? Surely the working class need these savings more than a barrister or a bank manager.

Suppose its a good job I qualify for this bracket as I'd be leading a revolution to make it open for all if not.

Hot deal, you can't even get ME1 for that.

or you can get an existing member to refer you. Tell you what, Go down to your near Costco, disregard everything I've said and also disregard the massive eligiibility chart behind customer services and when they turn you down, You can blame this kn*bhead for a wasted journey!
#20
Above is correct.

To get a Costco card you either need own business, or work for one of a number of approved occupations.

However, if you know someone with a card you can get put on as their second card holder no matter who you are.

The eligible occupations are quite wide. In Leeds, because I work for one of the eligible occupation firms, Costco often come around trying to drum up membership.

If you just go down to Costco and ask to join and do not have proof of an eligible occupation or your own business, or you are not with a primary card holder, then they WILL turn you down.

As to price, primary membership is £25 plus VAT, if you get a second card it is another £12 plus VAT.
#21
So for non-members this is not a good deal if you are just getting the games as you have to pay £25+ just to join, if you qualify. Not knocking the OP but I hate these sort of places bit like Macro, why is the average Joe's money no good for these people?
#22
darksiders for ps3 is also this price
#23
You don't need to 'qualify'

You can get general membership.

How do I know? I'm a member at Leeds and I'm student. Cheap Milk (;

They're meant for traders and such and invite professionals because they think they will be able to sell more in bulk to them and that's where their profits are. They don't really want to contend with the supermarkets and such and are looking to maintain a certain level of exclusivity.

My Mum is a member and I do qualify for membership based upon my occupation also but I wouldn't really spend enough in there to justify the annual fee.

anyone who has a job and pays tax can have a costco card mate. You just have to prove you pay tax etc.
#26
U can so it through most companies too. All they generally need is a utility bill of the business with the address on (usually a companies finance dept is happy to help with this). U have a master card which usually costs the most to start. You can then add up to 6 additional cards i think. We did this at my place and then split the cost of membership between us and worked out to £10 each. They have fantastic deals on some things. They are also very good when gearing up for parties and BBQ's. eg 2kg of mince iv'e seen for £4-£5 which = alot of burgers or one hell of a massive Chilli

I would go out on a limb and say that Mass Effect 2 is the best title on the 360, fullstop.
Finally finished at the weekend, and I still want to carry on playing it!!
I haven't been this addicted to a game since the first KOTOR.

Yup, just take a payslip that show's your tax code and you can get membership.

I would be inclined to agree with you completely only Bioshock still holds the candle for my favourite 360 game yet, I'd say this is definitely number two though.

It's just a shame that the DLC has to be so expensive, and by all accounts, a bit crap. I'm itching to play more of it though and after giving Dragon Age a few hours of my weekend (but it just isn't the same unfortunately) I'm now giving the first Mass Effect a third chance after giving up on it twice previously due to the really terrible combat mechanics.
#32
That's weird you say that cos I got totally fed up of the first Mass Effect too and never finished. It's quite amazing the overhaul they've done on the 2nd one. Just everything No.2 is near flawless. The upgrades, the combat, the rewards for investigation, the story is superb too.

I also have a similar feeling about Bioshock...I couldn't be bothered to finish the first one, but I was totally hooked on the 2nd. There just seemed to be a better story to me, and gameplay was more involving...but I think that's just me as I know a lot of people prefer the first. :p
#33
You see now I thought the second Bioshock was an absolute abomination and I question it's need to exist in all honesty, especially that multiplayer mode which I like to call 'Team Fortress with plasmids'.

The first time I played ME1 was when it came out and I didn't even finish Eden Prime. I gave it another go a few months ago and passed that mission but then got stuck on the Citadel thanks to the truly terrible combat but I started playing it again yesterday and now I have Spectre status so I believe the combat gets a lot easier from this point.

I think the story is what does it for me though, it's about as close to an 80's-style Sci fi opera that you will probably ever see in a game.
#34
err yes, GOTY so far, even better than RDR. but get and play the first one before attempting number 2

RDR is not even in the same league as this game.

RDR was good but severely overrated in my opinion.

The Birmingham store also HAD Lips (including mics) for £10.54. I picked up my copy and some guy bought all the remaining 23! May be worth checking the price in other Costcos if they have any in stock. Also 10+ of Mass Effect 2 and Resonance of Fate still in stock in Birmingham.

Someone mentioned Darksiders for the same price but it's been reduced to about £15 in B'ham.

Bought a copy from Costco Milton Keynes today was marked as £10.53 there were about 5 or 6 left, heat + rep to op

Went in this afternoon and there were none left. The selection of games they offered was pretty poor too.

does the £10.54 include vat?

£10.53 in Reading including VAT
