  I know this is a common opinion but personally I preferred it to 2. The very end of the game isn't great (though I don't understand why you spoiled it for people) but I treated the whole game as an ending to a series I loved and up until the very end it was great and really brought closure to a lot of the stories and characters.
  
  Mass Effect 2 was great too but as good as the loyalty missions were individually it really felt out of place that I was spending so much time on them when I was supposed to be rushing to stop the reapers. I loved the game by the very end but was really bored with the start which I never felt with 1 or 3.

  very good game and multiplayer is both fun and active but both aspects suffer from problems (former more fanservice for reoccurring characters than any amazing new plot, plus ending still sucks, latter has lag and connection issues).
  
  well worth it but anyone new to the seris should really play mass effect 2 first - 1 probably has a better plot than either but it plays quite a lot differently. knowing the seris makes me3 great, but me3 as your first game of the story will leave you confused and not caring about the characters.

  I really wish they would release ME2 (and eventually 3) as some sort of game of the year with all the DLC, like a normal company would do. I just can't stand this "pay more to see everything" where whole characters (good ones, too!) are not present if you don't cough up more cash.

  not like there is some kinda "oh snap !" revelation anyway in me3 - 1 has best plot, 2 has best character development and 3 kinda brings the whole thing together with varied success, the character endings are often touching and poignant, some of the scenes and the choices are gripping (only if you've played previous games though, rannoch had me welling up and no mistake) but the argument that the extended cut actually detracted from the endings is certainly valid - original was a bit vague but made you think, extended did exactly that and provided more closure for less imagination, neither i found especially satisfying.
  
  straying a bit too much into spoilery game discussion and away from hot deals - good game with fun mechanics and multiplayer that still receives free addons and events (though 1 mode only), hot price but with the caveat that you may want to play at least me2 first (though i'm sure you can find both prequels for under a tenner total)

  I have played the first two on Xbox but I'd rather play the third on PC. Hopefully there's a way to transfer saves or make a new one with the same decisions made through an editor or something. So annoying.
