  Nope the mining system was abandoned, you can scout planets and find resources to help with the war effort. But that's about all you can do from planet viewer. I really enjoyed ME3, have waited for the new DLC before i played the ending for obvious reasons. I got about 25 hours of gameplay out of it so far. £15 is a steal

  Nope the mining system was abandoned, you can scout planets and find resources to help with the war effort. But that's about all you can do from planet viewer.   I remember Argos selling ME2 for £9.99 about this time last year, don't think they'll be doing that again due to the amount of ebay hawks that swooped on their branches to buy their stock!
  
  I got it and Bulletstorm for £9.99 each and I'm very grateful indeed.
  
  ME3 is fantastic, easily the equal of ME2 but with better combat.

  It doesn't change the ending much, It just fills in plotholes and explains it better with extra cutscenes and conversation choices.
  I thought the original ending was ok but it wasn't explained very well. :)

  The extended cut DLC was released yesterday. It's a free DLC (pretty heft >1GB space needed - can't quite remember the details) but it apparently expands upon the ending. I only picked up the game earlier in the month as I was hoping the new DLC would be out before I got to the end.
  
  This is an awesome price. I paid £10 more and it was worth it at that :)
