Mass Effect will deliver an immersive, story-driven gameplay experience with stunning visual fidelity. Published by Microsoft Game Studios, Mass Effect is an exclusive title for the Xbox 360 video game system.

As the first humans on the galactic stage, players must uncover the greatest threat to civilization. Their job is complicated by the fact that no one will believe the truth, but the world must be convinced of the grave threat at hand.

Players will travel across an expansive universe to piece the mystery together. As they discover and explore the uncharted edges of the galaxy, they come closer to an overwhelming truth - learning that the placid and serene universe they know is about to come to a violent end and that they may be the only people who can stop it!

Features:

* Real-time, squad-based combat - Mass Effect features a real-time, squad-based tactical combat system. Players will enjoy intense, challenging and exciting third-person action and squad-based combat. I'm playing through this at the mo. It is absolutely fantastic and involving. I'm engrossed and I still have ME2 in it's wrapper to look forward to. I also saw a demo the other day for ME3 - it was superb.

So many good games...........so little time to play them!

should I even bother if I dont have a lot of time to devote to it. At most 1/2 hr 2 or 3 x a week?

Played the demo yesterday, overrated. Typical former Xbox exclusive praised to high heaven.

Don't believe the hype.

dont listen to this guy, first of all he's talking about ME2, this is ME1

secondly it was on PC so not exclusive

thirdly its an amazing game!

any self-respecting gamer knows, a demo of an RPG = fail

as for Darryl2312, it isnt fallout which is open-world

this is much more focused but IMO better than Fallout 3 because of the amazing universe Bioware have created

great game, great price.
lots of decisions that can haunt or help you in ME2!
play it as a male or female Commander Shephard
play it as a good guy or a bad guy,
play just the main mission or all the sidequests and the included dlc

worth buying just for the elevator music!

This is the only game i've completed 3 times in my life. If you like sci-fi then this is as good as it gets, for me anyway. I'm tempted to grab this so i can play it again before ME3 is released.

Question: what's on the second disc?

Cheers, I've already played ME2 and loved it, so this should keep me going till either ME3 or Portal 2 come out. :)

It is very different to Fallout 3, still good, but the only thing they really have in common is the fact that they are WRPG, but that's pretty much where the similarity ends. The dialogue system in Mass Effect is quite good though, but Mass Effect 2 was much better than the first game, it improved a hell of a lot of stuff.

Only thing that was bad in ME2 was the mining, other than that it was perfect.
