Unfortunately its self explanatory then? .. no 'Fancy Shop' is interested in ANY 'Unprivileged' areas are they? (lets be real ... )

Hence why shops like Selfridges is in West End .. & Harrods is in South London .. Arabian Uid & Hamleys are both in West End also! .. & only Shops like Sainsbury's, Tesco, & Iceland are anywhere/everywhere else to be found .. need I go on .....

Such is 'Life', huh?.

Difficult to understand why anyone with any understanding of the realities of life would even consider shopping in Waitrose. Massively overpriced and pandering to those who consider a "Waitrose " carrier bag a poor person's status symbol (as compared to Harrods"). Most of the Waitrose branded stuff can be bought in Lidl and Aldi at a small fraction of the price (under Lidl and Aldi own brand names of course).

Maybe due to Waitrose being part of John Lewis, people are happy to pay extra for service. Not everyne always wants to wade through dump bins of bargains or help the retailer sort out stock on the shelf.

My nearest Waitrose is 120 miles away. Ironic really since Aberdeen is a very affluent area, so out the scummy bracket area anyway.

Waitrose in Manchester, leeds, cheshire, sheffield? Definition of down south doesn't leave much up north.

This really happened. So I walked into waitrose and was on my phone when this deal came up. Trotted up to the guy and asked "Excuse me, I can't find your large pack of nuts, I believe they're on offer".

The guys face changes expressions fit for an oscar in record time before he looks at my other half who is standing next to me as amused by what I said than him when it dawns on me.

So she replies to the bloke "If that's what my fiancé wants" to which he chuckles "I wouldn't tell my boyfriend". He trots off to look for them as I stand there red in the face. :(oO:|:).

Speechless.

Also, don't know if this is still the case, but people used to post here that towns which have one of these also have cheaper Greggs due to the competition.

Doesn't ring true here.. Our pound bakery is roughly 35-45ft from our greggs, and greggs is still quite expensive. I'd still go greggs anyway. Just doesn't taste as good from pound Bakery, at least the bean cheese and sausage melt doesn't anyway...

Oh, we also have a sayers 150-200ft away, and another greggs about 300ft away (no idea why I'm using ft, but just go with it!)

Sayers? Never even heard of that one! Do you have Percy Ingles up north? Plenty of those around here.
