A 5m extension does not provide very much extra length, although obviously it may be sufficient for some jobs. Check the cable rating carefully - even fully unwound, it might not cope with a total load of anything like 13A (perhaps only 5A). If so, not of much use except for low-current equipment such as lamps, computers, TVs, some power tools. Having four sockets may be pointless!

Go to the deal, click on the picture, zoom in, read the (rather abraded!) label and you will see that it handles 2400W while unwound. Well in fact it will handle less than this as it has a UK plug on it, but that does show that it will take 13A.

Five metres times four appliances could be considered to be 20m of cable. :)

I did attempt to read a blow-up of the label but couldn't make out the rating - thanks for the info. But if the max current unwound is indeed 2400W, that is only a shade over 10A and not the 13A theoretically possible with a heavier cable and correctly fused plug, so my caution remains valid if you want to plug a kettle etc in!

Yes you're right - sorry. Eyes but not thinking cap on!
