surge protection will duff up your line speeds if using powerline adapter in this.
8 or 10 plugs needed..

No switch? You should always plug power plugs directly into the wall.

Fantastic price, given a neighbour up the road just had their house burnt down due to an electric wire fault behind their TV. I strongly recommend everyone has both mains MCBs and a local surge protector (they had neither).

Surge protectors are not just for Christmas can literally be for life.

Powerline adapters are not that great and get worse over time. I have one on a surge extension and their is probably a 10% difference. It still does the job

If you are really picky, you can always just stick the powerline into the wall rather than the extension, and stick the extension onto the powerline if it is plug-through

would like to hear other people's experiences as to whether these would have a noticeable detrimental impact on power lines

Showing as 6.99 just now for non prime members also. Purchased one of these back in 2013 (according to Amazon), works and still works faultlessly, so another two just ordered!

I have powerline adapters too, and have them plugged directly into the wall socket (extension adapters such as this do interfere with them), but as they are "pass through" adapters I simply plug in the extension lead onto the power line adapter (piggy back) so best of both worlds.

Heat added for a great product at a great price

Exactly, that's what I do and why I also recommend passthrough powerlines.

same price @ currys pc world (including free delivery) + 1% TCB / quidco
They usually deliver it next day by DPD ( Much better courier than amazon logistics )
and guess what, you don't need to be a prime member or spend 20 to get this price ... bingo

plus think twice before buying from amazon if you have a viable alternative, see how poorly amazon treats its delivery drivers

Say no to amazon prime, say no to amazon ...

The neighbour didn't have MCBs? Haven't they been mandatory since 1986 or so?

Surge protection is useless unless used for sensitive electronic items like computer or mobile. Most devices sold in UK come with fuses in the plug which should be properly rated for the device being used. Mcb is only electronic form of fuse. Surge protection kills power line network as said above so is unnecessary.

Masterplug sell 8 socket switched lead extension which is much better than this for £15. I prefer switching off devices not in use. The neon on the switch indicates when the switch is on as well.
