Really good Christmas puds. Cheaper than any I've seen on sale. RRP is £4.99. They have piles of them near the tills. Grab 'em while you can

Apparently they are the oldest Christmas pudding makers in the world. I guess they have to be good to still be making them lol I haven't had one myself, but will be trying one this year at that price

Yep - They're great, they are the same company that made heston's waitrose orange in the middle xmas puddings that went for a fortune on ebay. they're made in a factory in derbyshire not too far from me.

They are awesome puds! Bought a pile of them last Jan for £1.25 each, down to last two which i'm saving for Christmas day, shame i don't have a Farmfoods anywhere near me... Heated.

What size are they? 100gr or the family size 454gr?
thanks!
#6
family size ones but bear in mind they are only dated apr/june 2011 so no point buying for xmas next year

As it is stashed in the back of the Xmas goodies cupboard, don't really feel like looking, but it definitely isn't the 100g, so must be the 454g.

I used to pass the factory in Heanor every day on my way to work. It smelt like Christmas all year round!

I'm sure I saw them in the '99p stores' last week too if that helps? Merry Christmas!!

These are renowned as one of the best so for a £1 I may even try one.

Never tried them as I make about 40kg of my own puddings each year but may just have a tester at that price, I certainly couldn't buy all the ingredients for that. In reference to the sell by/use by date if they have a decent amount of fruit and alcohol (not too boozy though) then they should be fine. I just ate one from my fridge that I made last November.

They are lovely. Will have a look tomorrow

Have in previous years frozen any Christmas puddings that have not been eaten - they will keep well for years.
This year I forked out for a Heston Xmas Pudding on Ebay (well the nearest Waitrose is about 80 miles away and they don't have a delivery service here) . The Heston is too sweet for our taste and came in a cheap plastic container (I expected porcelain ) Also contained palm oil which is a no no. Had I been able to read the ingredients beforehand I would not have bought this pudding.

These were 2 for a £1 yesterday. We had one xmas day that I bought last week and it was lovely so well recommended.
Xmas puds last for a long time so if you are not too fussy about use by dates then these will be fine for xmas 2011 too!
