Just spotted this whilst browsing Forbidden Planet and was a bit taken aback. This isn't just one of THE greatest graphic novels of all time it's one of the greatest books of all time. And this edition is signed by the creator Art Speigelman. To me, that is utterly priceless. I'd be gobsmacked, if in a few years, this wasn't worth waaaaaaaay more than the £16.99 asking price.

Combined for the first time here are Maus I: A Survivor’s Tale and Maus II - the complete story of Vladek Spiegelman and his wife, living and surviving in Hitler’s Europe.

By addressing the horror of the Holocaust through cartoons, the author captures the everyday reality of fear and is able to explore the guilt, relief and extraordinary sensation of survival - and how the children of survivors are in their own way affected by the trials of their parents.

A contemporary classic of immeasurable significance.

About the Author
Art Spiegelman is a contributing editor and artist for the New Yorker. His drawings and prints have been exhibited in museums and galleries around the world. He won the Pulitzer Prize for Maus, and a Guggenheim fellowship. It was also nominated for the National Book Critics Award. He lives in New York.

Yes, you can get an unsigned copy cheaper, but tbh, that's not the point here.

This is the instore price, but you can have this delivered too for £4

Wonderful book. Made me cry but wonderful nonetheless.

Only the original edition will be worth waaaaaayyyy more than that. If he's signed 100s then they'll not be worth much more.

Think the original 1st Edition prints of these will already be worth a lot

Absolutely, and this is still a lovely item, just not something to be seen as an investment.

Signed immaculate 25 year old first editions are like £100 or so. I imagine this would be worth a little bit in time but you'll probably be dead before it'll even buy you dinner for two at a decent restaurant.

Besides the point for a graphic novel such as this though, definitely one to be read many times and shown to everyone, not put away as a collectible.

Highly recommended. I studied this at uni as part of a holocaust literature module and it was excellent. Heat!

wonderful book. I read this a while back and was blown away by the motion it managed to show through animals faces

Remember reading this at school, not sure I read both parts though. A good read.
