Saw these in the Handforth store (Cheshire) - it's just under a fiver (marked as half price) for 25 (without cases) and £2 for 10 (again, without cases) - so, pretty much the same price per disk but when I scanned these through they came up as 50pence for a packet of 10.

I know these are quickly becoming redundant but worth 50p I reckon even if it's just to hang them from your rear view mirror (why do people do that?!)

Because, if they are speeding they believe the flash from a speed camera will bounce off the CD/DVD.

hot for the deal BUT ***** discs. my dvd DL wont burn em at all. wont even recognise maxwells.
#6
hot, but this is dvd+r which is doesn't works on some players/dvd-roms.
If you have pioneer/sony etc. drive its for you
#7
Sure it wasnt a faulty scanner ? or entered wrong by staff? Not 50 pence here.

Good question. I don't trust hard drives with my data so everything gets burnt on DVD - definitely worth the hassle.

Honestly don't know - I did it at the self serve tills. It was labelled as £2 on the shelf but scanned as 50p so may well be labelled wrong. I was going to go back for another pack but I don't really use disks much these days. Good find I thought if you're in there and it works but otherwise probably not worth a trip specially. :)

Nope, the reciept shows the product and that there was no manual price reduction done at the till. However I know that tesco have the ability to change the price of a product at a certain store / stores. Always best to check the price at the till as shelf prices dont always get changed.

More likely to be the drive or the software than the discs, I've used loads of these before for backing up

Well, maybe not these exact ones but I've had a lot of problem with a spindle of Maxell DVD, something like 15+ coasters out of 50. Switched to Emtec and Verbatims and had no problems. Might be a compatibility issue between the burner and the media but still far too many coasters compared to alternative brands.

I can't believe someone used a card for a 50p total lol

Yeah, that was my first thought when I saw the receipt. I've never used the self-service checkouts before, but I guess it's probably more convenient to use a card rather than mess about with small change. ;-)

I don't see why you find it so surprising or even care so much that you've gotta post about it. I've used my card for a couple of pence before, quite often infact in Asda using the self scan if I run out of change. Do you believe that?

Hot deal, couldnt put a bigger scan of the reciept up could you? cant quite read all the text.

In the spirit of the site:
My credit card gives me 0.5% cashback. So by using it for this transaction, I would get a whole 0.25 pence of cashback... Every little help :p
