Yes, you should have no problems.

The 16x designation means the quality of the optical coating can cope with being accurately lasered when spinning at 16x; and 8x spinning is LESS demanding on the coating and hence has 'quality/capability' to spare in your 8x drive.

That said recognise that nowadays a 16x or higher drive (if a standard PC drive rather than an integrated laptop drive) will cost little more than 2 or 3 times the price of this pack and as burning (and reading) operations will complete around TWICE as fast, the TIME saving for you may make it worth upgrading your drive.

Great spot , rep added

Right now im using TY02, TY03 and Prodisc F1 based discs, so far all going strong with no problems. I know these will never be able to match up to the first two (nothing can...), but how do they compare to the fantastic Prodiscs? Personally i've never ever thought much of Maxell branded stuff...never used their discs though.

cheers down to my last 5 dvds so this cheeper than going to my local shop for them.

Sorry, you're right. Link doesn't seem to work for me anymore, though, so I had to search for it and didn't notice the difference.

Davy- They are gold in colour with green logo & lines on. I bought 2 packs a while back & also 1 of the dvd+rs. No probs with any of 'em at all.

I just ordered a couple more anyway -always come in handy for lobbing at the enemy!.

To add to mikmac1, if you aren't running Toast;

Media info is built into Leopard, in the Disc Burning section of System Profiler, just pop in the disc and refresh.

If you're running Panther or Tiger there's always good old DVD Media Inspector. Always handy :-D
