Thats a good price, But are these better than the kingston ones?

I have been eyeing these for weeks ! Maxell can be a good brand. I recently purchased some Sandisk Extreme III from Play.com on a good price and these look like great backup. Transcend seems to be a reliable make which is slowly making its mark in the UK . Does anyone know who makes the maxell ones ? Toshiba ?

What is the read/write speed of these? I'm thinking of buying one to put into my Wii. (x53)

Is google checkout applicable at play.com?

And what is the Quidco at play.com? (2%)

Purchased some sandisk Extremes from Play.com recently and have just completed a review for them . Very good prices - but some comments are negative. Expectations from point and shoot users maybe a little high ! £16.99 for 2 gb Extreme III is good...

Bought this from play.com for the same price a few weeks ago... My laptop's reader couldn't read it, and halfway thru using it on my camera, a warning came up: "Cannot read card!"

Better stick with Kingston.

Did you use it in the reader or cam first ? Did you format the card in the camera first ? These things can make a difference.

I got one of these a couple of months ago from Play for the same price. It's been very good and done everything i've asked of it.

google checkout does not work on play.com- ebuyer are the biggest brand rly

Hmmm... I think I used it on my camera first to try it, took a pic and then stuck it in my laptop's reader... waited for a bit but nothing... then i tried it on a usb card reader and it was able to read it, tho a bit slow in detecting the card...

As for the camera, I took about 10 pics with the card in it and then the warning came up... i decided not to take my chances as I was on a holiday and used my other spare SD cards... I brought 4 with me, LOL!

It doesn't matter whether you buy Sandisk, Kingston or Corsair - all card manufacturers cards error from time to time. I would imagine that you were just unlucky.
